Amal Clooney's Hair Transformation Has Been Absolutely Stunning

Long before Amal Alamuddin became Amal Clooney, she was already a very successful international human rights lawyer, having defended a slew of high-profile clients, including Australian WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, as well as prime ministers, human rights activists, and many journalists who needed protection. But despite her extraordinary career of doing what's right, it wasn't until she started dating actor George Clooney in 2013 (and everyone got over their age-gap relationship), that people noticed her. That's right; a woman who has dedicated her life to making the world a better and safer place needed to date a movie star before anyone even knew who she was — that is anyone who doesn't actively follow the proceedings of international law.

Since being in the limelight, thanks to her super famous husband, Amal has perfectly played the part of the partner of a big star. She never misses the mark regarding fashion and her personal style, often making her husband George play second fiddle to her radiance.

While watching Amal's transformation from a serious human rights lawyer to the wife of George Clooney has been fun, especially because big designers love to dress her, her hair really stands out. Although her natural hair color is a luscious dark, almost-black brown, she hasn't been afraid to spice things up over the years, and every time she does, she nails the look perfectly.

2014: Straight and natural

Only a true style iconic can look so effortlessly chic while at work talking to Greek Culture Minister Kostas Tassoulas during a meeting in Athens. And that's exactly what Amal, who was still Alamuddin at the time, did on October 14, 2014. With her hair straight and what appears to be her natural color, she knows that there's a time to keep things professional and a time to let her hair down, literally, and have a good time.

2019: Long, dark layers

For the U.S. Premiere of Hulu's "Catch-22" on May 07, 2019, Amal showed up with George on her arm and lots of layers in her long locks. Because Amal keeps her hair so long, choosing to get layers is an easy way to give her hair volume. If she uses products at the roots of her hair (which she probably does), it gives even more volume to all those beautiful layers.

2022: Tumbling chocolate curls

Because Amal tends to keep her long hair straight, when she shows up to an event with curls and/or waves, you can't help but stare in awe. Getting voluminous curls to stay in straight hair is no easy task, so it's probably safe to assume that Amal didn't do these curls on her own, but called in a couple of professionals. No matter how those curls came to fruition, her hair looked amazing when she attended the 2nd Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 15, 2022, with George by her side.

2023: Beurre brunette

As much as Amal can dress up to the nines and always look fabulous, she can also dress down and look equally fantastic — hair included. For a casual night out with George at the Polo Bar in New York City on December 13, 2023, Amal wore her hair down and rocked a color very close to the beurre brunette trend of late 2023 and early 2024.

2024: Sun-kissed highlights

As usual, Amal absolutely stunned when she arrived at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 01, 2024, for George's film, "Wolfs." Not only was her dress and her entire vibe a breath of elegant fresh air, but she debuted a new hair color: sun-kissed highlights. The almost-blonde was complemented perfectly by her long, pale yellow gown. Needless to say, she outshone George yet again.
