The Eyebrow Trends You'll See Everywhere In 2024

Eyebrows have always been at the forefront of beauty. As the most important part of the face, eyebrows have defined eras and made people icons — think Cara Delevingne and Frida Kahlo. With each year that comes, new eyebrow trends emerge and take hold of our culture, solidifying their place in beauty and fashion history. Because of this, anyone who knows a thing or two about eyebrows can look at a photo and know the decade to which they're paying an homage. Round with high arches? The 1930s. Pencil-thin to the point of being skinny? The 1990s.

While the 2023 eyebrow trends that were everywhere included bleaching, thick, straight hairs à la Audrey Hepburn in the 1950s, and the resurgence of that painfully thin 1990s brow, 2024 has different plans for the face framers. "I am noticing more people are seeking brows that appear untouched," celebrity brow artist Kristie Streicher tells TZR. That's great news for those of us who like to keep things simple, yet chic.

Although how you rock your eyebrows is your choice — not every style and shape is ideal for all faces — you still want to make sure you pay attention to them. "Your eyebrows create the frame and balance to your face," brow expert Nilam Holmes tells Glamour UK. "Having the right style and shape of brow can make a huge difference to your look." Whether you're thinking about reinventing your brow game or just hoping to be a bit more on trend in 2024, there's something out there for all eyebrows.

Fluffy, feathered brows

Most of us come into this world with fluffy, rogue eyebrows that do their own thing. It's only when we look at celebrities and fashion magazines that we start to second-guess our natural brows and manipulate them into something that they're not. Good thing fluff is in style for 2024, so we can all get back to basics. "With brow lamination taking the front seat, accepting natural, bushy, fluffy, and sometimes overgrown brows bring forward a certain innocence and youthfulness to this effortless 'no makeup, makeup look' era that we're all about nowadays," makeup artist and skincare expert Shanzey Al-Amin tells Byrdie.

To get these brows, you can refer to brow experts or take matters into your own hands with little-to-no upkeep necessary. Depending on how long your hairs are, you may need the occasional trim to prevent them from looking overgrown or disheveled while still giving them space to be their naturally full selves. "Think less is more as far as maintenance — don't over-tweeze or trim," celebrity makeup artist Kristine Studden tells CNN.

Natural shapes

Eyebrows come in many shapes and sizes. Some have naturally high arches, while others are straight across or even downward sloping. While previous years saw people waxing, sugaring, and tweezing to achieve perfect lines and arches, 2024 is the year to lean into your natural shape. "Overly structured brows are on their way out and a more subtle brow will be seen in 2024," celebrity makeup artist Ash K Holm tells Glamour. "Embrace your natural brow frame and lightly fill in gaps where needed."

If it's been a long time since you've seen your natural shape or you don't particularly love what you were born with, you can alter it a bit as long as you stick to the natural look. "Whether you have thick, thin, or a unibrow, embracing a structure that is distinct to you is the way to go," celebrity brow artist Kristie Streicher tells TZR. "Shortening the tail and adding a bit of product will give some definition and allow you to create a personalized shape." Granted, high arches are amazingly fun, but putting them on the shelf for 2024 will make them even more exciting to revisit in the future.

Ombré eyebrows

Although ombré eyebrows have been low-key popular for the last couple years, 2024 is the year they take center stage because of their dimension-adding properties. Like microblading, ombré shading is a semi-permanent tattoo. But instead of strokes, ombré brows are created by "a series of many fine dots that vary in concentration, giving the look of a powdered brow," celebrity eyebrow specialist Joey Healy tells Byrdie.

Because it's a trend that adds depth, it can help those who don't have naturally fluffy, feathery brows achieve the feathered look. But, if you're not sure you can commit to semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos, you can get this gradient look with makeup. "Using products is a nice alternative because it gives you total freedom with the intensity of the brows as well as the ability to play and change up your look," celebrity brow artist Dani Kimiko Vincent tells InStyle. "The idea is to build intensity with the ombré effect by incorporating two shades, keeping the darker tone towards the tail, and blending it into the lighter shade towards the front of the brows."

Laminated brows

If you thought the laminated brow trend was over, you were wrong. It appears that lamination is here to stay — at least through 2024 — which is great news for those who need a little something extra to get their brows looking full and fluffy. What's great about this texturing treatment is that it softens the hair follicles so they can easily be reshaped to your liking or to the trend of the moment. "When done correctly the brow will lay in a more aesthetically pleasing shape, with the brows looking fuller and more lifted," brow and lash expert Sarah Maxwell tells Allure. "The hairs, if unruly before, will be more easily managed in their smooth shape."

If eyes are the windows to the soul, then think of the eyebrows as the shutters — and every window needs strong, beautiful shutters to make the entire building stand out from the rest. When you think of eyebrows in this way, as opposed to an afterthought, you'll realize how essential they are to really pulling your whole look together, no matter what brow trend you decide to ride in 2024.
