Blake Lively's Most Daring Red Carpet Looks Of All Time

As much as Blake Lively has made a name for herself onscreen, she's also become known for her red-carpet looks. While she's stunned at the Met Gala time and time again, as one of the few people in Hollywood without a stylist, she sometimes misses the mark. While not everyone can have Law Roach as a stylist, it's still always a good idea to have someone there to point out that what you think is fashion-forward is, in actuality, a flaming hot mess.

Lively has been vocal about her decision to go without a stylist, telling WWD in 2018, "[It's] probably because I have control issues and a big ego — that's probably the honest answer," she said before elaborating on her love of fashion. "In my job I get to be creative, but it's over a period of time and many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle, and end, and I get to be creative and there's an end date in the near future. It's the same reason why I like doing my friends' hair and makeup or cooking — you get to be creative and finish it. Whereas with my job you do it and then two years later it's finished. It probably goes back to the control issues; it's like, 'Ok I did it, I completed it, it's done!'"

Whether it's control issues or just a woman who believes in her own style, even in her most questionable outfits, Lively always pushes the fashion envelope in one way or another. And the proof of that can be found in her most daring red carpet looks.

The blazer and no shirt look in London

With the release of her most recent film, "It Ends with Us," Blake Lively has been making the media rounds and her outfits do not disappoint. On August 8, she was at a photo call in London for the movie where she wore an embroidered blazer and matching pants by Stella McCartney (massive slay). Although the suit was gorgeous as is (seriously, zoom in on those details), what made it daring is that Lively decided to leave her shirt at home. While the topless blazer look isn't anything new, Lively gave it some extra spice by choosing to not button the blazer, leaving it completely open.

A red cat suit in NYC

Let's be honest: pulling off a skintight catsuit is no easy feat. But Lively knows a good thing when she sees it, so she stunned fans when she wore this custom Atelier Versace red catsuit to the New York City premiere of "Deadpool & Wolverine." It was the perfect choice to complement her husband's Deadpool character and the suit he wears in the film. While it doesn't look particularly comfortable, it's certainly beautiful and Lively wears it like a rockstar.

Princess Leia-inspired dress in LA

To say there's a lot going on here with this Lanvin dress would be an understatement. We have a full skirt with a slit up the center, as opposed to the traditional side slit, a leather (and very seductive-looking) harness around the waist and up the torso and, to top it all off, a very large dragonfly adornment at the base of her neck. Lively wore this dress to Spike TV's Scream 2010 Awards back in October 2010, and it's just as daring today as it was 14 years ago.

A full-length feather coat — in August

It's not every day that someone shows up to a screening in a bright red, full-length, feather coat. It's for that reason alone that this look makes the list. Lively wore this gorgeous Tamara Ralph Couture beaded gown and coat to the August 8 UK screening of "It Ends with Us." Yes, you read that correctly: Lively wore that coat in the brutal summer-in-London heat. But, hey, no one ever said fashion was supposed to be practical.

Shorts and a topless blazer in 2009

If you thought Lively going shirtless with her blazer in London earlier this summer was daring, get this: it wasn't her first time rocking the look. Back in November 2009, the then 22-year-old wore this Marchesa jacket and shorts to the NYC screening of "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee." While this take on the blazer-sans-shirt look is tame compared to her most recent 'fit, she was pretty much still a kid and very new to the Hollywood scene. It takes a lot of confidence to wear something so daring in an industry that tries to cut you down at every turn. So, good for you, Blake!
