Kate Middleton's Pregnancy Style Was Unmatched

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has welcomed three children with husband, Prince William. Their eldest, Prince George, was born on July 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in London. Next came Princess Charlotte, who was born on May 2, 2015, and was also delivered at St. Mary's Hospital. The youngest, Prince Louis, was born on April 23, 2018, and has gone on to delight audiences with his antics at state events. The world followed Catherine's three pregnancies with eager anticipation, with many excited about the arrival of new heirs to the throne, while others couldn't get enough of her pregnancy style. 

The Princess of Wales has always delighted us with her sartorial choices and has undergone a stunning style transformation since joining the royal family in 2011 when she married William. Sure, she's sometimes sported an outdated trend here and there, and will never give up on skinny jeans, but Catherine has always served sumptuous style. Even while pregnant, Catherine showed up as a trendsetter. 

In February 2018, while pregnant with Prince Louis, Catherine, Princess of Wales, joined Prince William for the BAFTA Film Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London. For the event, Catherine wore a dark green gown by Jenny Packham, with a black ribbon tied at the waist. Her jewelry was the real focal point of this look, featuring an emerald and diamond necklace with coordinating earrings. Even while pregnant, Catherine wore heels. 

Her dress choice was a controversial one for the event. Female stars all over Hollywood were boycotting sexual harassment and, in solidarity with the Time's Up campaign, wore all black to events that year. The royals traditionally don't take a stance with campaigns like Time's Up; nevertheless, people were disappointed that Catherine didn't wear black, while others thought her black sash was a nod to the group's efforts. 

In early February 2018, while pregnant with Prince Louis, Catherine and Prince William, visited Oslo, Norway, on a Scandinavian tour. The visit was cold and snowy, so Catherine dressed warmly in winter attire. She wore a blue Catherine Walker & Co coat with tall boots, as well as a fur hat and fur-trimmed gloves. Catherine's Sumac hat was made by Lacorine; the fur did not come from an alpaca that was bred for its coat. Rather, the fur was collected from "natural herd loss," according to the website. Catherine has worn the cozy fur hat before, but it looked especially charming on her trip to Oslo, which was reportedly bitterly cold. 

While pregnant with Prince George, Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May 2013. The party was hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II, and Catherine chatted with the then-Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Catherine kept things sunny and bright by wearing a coat dress by Emilia Wickstead, with nude heels and a neutral fascinator. At the time of the garden party, Catherine was seven months pregnant with her firstborn son, and looked every bit the excited mother-to-be. Little George would arrive shortly, in the middle of summer. 

In 2015, while pregnant with daughter Princess Charlotte, Catherine, Princess of Wales, surprised the cast and crew of "Downton Abbey" with a visit to Ealing Studios in London. She wore a simple, white coat dress with a black clutch, and was complete elegance, with her signature blow dry in all its glory. While Catherine might have opted for neutral tones on her visit to the set, the cast and crew were still dazzled out of their minds. Laura Carmichael, who played Lady Edith, told E! News, "We all got quite shy and she was sort of leading the conversation." But we doubt it was too taxing for the princess. The cast joked that she overstayed her welcome because she was having such a nice time with them. 

While pregnant with Princess Charlotte in March 2015, Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited the XLP Arts Project at Christ Church in London, a youth charity for children who grew up in difficult circumstances. She visited the location with her husband, Prince William, who excitedly talked about the arrival of a little sibling for Prince George. "They say that number one is a life changer and that number two is a game-changer," William said, per People. It marked Catherine's last day of doing public service before giving birth, so it was a memorable day for everyone involved. She wore a bright pink coat by Mulberry for the momentous occasion, which was a great choice. The color was joyful and eye-catching.
