The whole clan of Jolie women are stunningly fashionable, which is why we love to keep an eye on their styling choices and evolving tastes. For her part, Shiloh has undergone a remarkable hair transformation that's mimicked her mom's; they both rocked an epic buzz cut in their day and then moved to longer locks. Zahara has also undergone a stunning transformation of her own. For both of these gals, fashion evolutions included stops in their mom's closet for glam upgrades.

Zahara Jolie rocked Angelina's old Elie Saab gown

In October 2021, Angelina Jolie was joined by most of her kids at the Los Angeles premiere for "Eternals." While the family looked stylish and tonal in their neutrals, daughter Zahara Jolie may have caused the biggest sensation. She wore the beaded Elie Saab gown that Angelina donned when she attended the 2014 Oscars. Angelina didn't mind in the slightest that her iconic threads were getting a second life. "My kids are all mixed with vintage, and in my old Oscars dress. We did all vintage and upcycled my old stuff," she told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere.

It was a great way for Zahara to be creative, taking something special from her mom's sartorial past and making it her own. While she didn't seem to change the gown much besides hemming it, Zahara infused the beloved dress with her own spirit and style. Angelina has spoken before about wanting to give her kids the chance to shine as individuals. While speaking with WSJ. Magazine, Angelina talked about how clothing is a way to get to know her kids: "I want to know who my children are and so I want to put things in front of them that help them question or break the box ... so you're always trying to just put different options in front of them and see where it takes them." Clearly, this gown was one of those moments.

Shiloh Jolie also borrowed a dress for the Eternals premiere

It seems like there was a lot of dress borrowing for the LA "Eternals" premiere. Shiloh Jolie also wore one of Angelina Jolie's old dresses in 2021, but did something a little edgier with it. Shiloh walked the carpet in a camel tone Gabriela Hearst dress that Angelina had previously worn to a 2019 Women for Bees press event. The original dress had one consistent hem length that hung around Angelina's ankles. Shiloh had the dress altered to feature an asymmetrical hem that cut off at the knee. She also added pieces of fabric around the bust of the dress.

"That was just an experiment," Angelina told WSJ. Magazine about that epic night when two of her daughters wore her old clothes. "Here's some vintage, here's some things you can cut up. You can do it all these different ways. Who are you? What do you want?" Clearly, Angelina Jolie felt that giving her children the chance to make something of their own out of her old things was a wonderful way to encourage them to express their individuality.

Shiloh made some changes to Angelina's old Dior gown

For the London leg of the "Eternals" premiere in 2021, Shiloh Jolie nabbed one of Angelina's old gowns yet again. This time, Shiloh wore a tropical print Dior gown that cut off just above her knees. Her dress was substantially changed from the original gown Angelina wore in 2019 on the "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" press tour. When Angelina originally wore the dress, it hung down long in a maxi cut and had a slightly different neckline.

We have a pretty good hunch that the new design for the classic Dior gown came from Shiloh herself, because Angelina told WSJ. Magazine that she prefers to let her children express their own tastes rather than having stylists do it for them. "I don't work regularly with a stylist," Angelina began. "I don't like the idea of somebody putting clothes on me or on my kids. So much of clothing is identity, and if someone else is styling you, and if someone else is dictating who you are and what you wear, especially as a mother, I don't want [it]." Obviously, it was very meaningful for Angelina and Shiloh to be able to create something new from this dress; Shiloh took something that Angelina loved and made it her own. That's what fashion is all about.
