Meghan Markle Is Absolutely Stunning Going Makeup Free
Unlike a lot of celebrities, Meghan Markle has never been one to rock a lot of makeup. Even before she became the Duchess of Sussex, you'd be hard pressed to find a photo of Markle wearing even a bold red lip, let alone a full face of cosmetics. It's just simply not her style.
"I don't wear foundation in real life," Markle told Allure 2014 when talking about the difference between her character on "Suits" and herself. "My routine is very simple — I call it the five-minute face. It's just Touche Éclat, curled lashes, mascara, Chap Stick, and a little bit of blush. That is my favorite kind of look." Markle is also all about making sure her freckles are always visible. "Every time I'd do her makeup, she'd say, 'Can we just make sure my freckles are peeking through? I don't want a ton of foundation,'" Markle's former hairstylist and makeup artist Lydia F. Sellers told Refinery 29 in 2018.
Although Markle doesn't wear much makeup, when she is bare-faced or very much close to that, you can still see a difference. And, of course, that difference is just as stunning as when she is wearing makeup.
In a clip from the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan
In 2022, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released their documentary, "Harry & Meghan" on Netflix. Toward the beginning of the first episode, there's a clip of Markle with her hair wrapped up in a towel and her face totally free of foundation. Although the clip appears to document a somber moment, you can see how gorgeous Markle's complexion is in the natural light of her home.
Effortlessly chic in the pre-Emmy Gift Lounge in 2009
Long before Meghan Markle was one-half of one of the most famous couples in the world, she was an actress trying to make it in Hollywood. Two years before she landed her role on "Suits," in 2009, Markle attended the pre-Emmy Gift Lounge looking fresh-faced. In fact, it appears she might only be wearing a bit of mascara to highlight her gorgeous dark brown eyes.
Markle goes au natural to watch her friend Serena Williams at the 2019 U.S. Open
While many celebrities treat the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament like the Met Gala and show up dressed to the nines in extravagant designer clothing, that's not the case for Meghan Markle. In 2019, the duchess attended the event to cheer on close friend and tennis great Serena Williams, and kept her look as simple and understated as possible.
Cute and casual in 2012
Only a year into her stint on "Suits," Megan Markle attended the HBO Luxury Lounge Featuring L'Oreal Paris at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. Whereas other celebrities may have taken the opportunity to glam up their newfound fame, Markle keeps it real and low-key. Judging from this photograph, if she's wearing any makeup at all, it can't be more than mascara and possibly a matte gloss to moisturize her lips.
Barely-there makeup in October 2024
As Meghan Markle told Allure in 2014, when she wants to "amp it up," she reaches for eyeliner. Although minimal, this appears to be what she did for her attendance at a roundtable discussion on gender equality with The Queens Commonwealth Trust and One Young World at Windsor Castle in 2019. Markle's husband, Prince Harry, also attended the event.
