What We Know About The First Aid Beauty Moisturizer Recall & What To Use Instead
Skincare aficionados will want to take a look in their medicine cabinets. According to the FDA, First Aid Beauty (which retails products at Sephora) has recalled 2,756 jars of its popular multi-purpose moisturizer — the Ultra Repair Cream in Coconut Vanilla — just in time for wintertime cold weather.
The affected products have lot numbers 24D44 and 24D45 and April 2026 expiration dates.
Although it's not exactly clear what's wrong with the product, as of January 21, 2025, the recall is now described as a Class II risk. According to the FDA, this classification applies when "use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote." In a statement shared with The Cut, a representative from First Aid Beauty said that they had already sent out replacement products to customers who had purchased the product. Thy added that no other variations of the moisturizer, including the original fragrance-free version were impacted by the recall.
Although First Aid Beauty has already sent replacement product to those with recalled items, that hasn't stopped Coconut Vanilla Ultra Repair Cream devotees from feeling seriously bummed, especially as the season of tight, dry skin descends upon us. But hope isn't lost — we've rounded up some alternatives to help beat the winter blues.
