6 Celebs Who Have Flaunted Some Wild Piercings

Body piercings have been around for thousands of years. Evidence has been found that people were piercing parts of their body as far back as 25,000 years ago and it was a practice then (and now) that spans across cultures. In other words, piercings are nothing new and people all over the world use them as a way of self-expression. 

Although the majority of folks tend to keep their piercings to their ears, other body parts are certainly not off-limits. According to 2017 research by Statista, when it comes to these "wilder" piercings, 10% of women and 19% of men are rocking nipple rings, and 5% of women and 9% of men have a genital piercing of some sort. "There are about 10 to 12 piercings each that you can get on a penis or a vulva, and even nipple piercings can be given at many different angles," professional tattoo artist and piercer J'son D'souza in an interview with Vice, adding that the reason behind these types of piercings is a combination of aesthetics and arousal.

While these piercings are definitely not for the faint of heart, some celebrities have embraced them and, in some cases, even flaunted them on red carpets and beyond. If you're thinking about indulging in a form of body modification, but even the most popular tattoo styles aren't for you, then maybe getting a piercing is a better fit. If you want that piercing to be someplace not only unconventional but pearl-clutching, then look no further than these celebs to find your inspiration.

In the 2016 winter issue of Paper Magazine (via Cosmopolitan) Bella Hadid's barbell nipple piercing was proudly on display. However, the piercing had already been spotted in 2015 when Hadid attended the 95th Anniversary Party for Vogue. Since then, Hadid's nipple piercing has been spotted off and on, based on what type of fabric she's wearing (which plays a key role in visibility). 

If you are considering a nipple piercing, you may want to follow Hadid's lead and get a barbell. "Barbells are way more popular. They're more subtle under clothes and they heal faster because they don't move around as much," celebrity piercer Brian Keith Thompson told Refinery 29, adding that the barbell shape is more compatible with the inevitable swelling that comes with piercing such a sensitive spot. "I like to allow at least an eighth of an inch on each side of the nipple, between the ball," says Thompson.

Hadid is definitely not the only celebrity with a nipple piercing. Both Kendall and Kylie Jenner have their nipples pierced, as do Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Janet Jackson, and Rihanna.

If any celebrity is going to get a butt piercing, it makes sense that it would be Cardi B. No stranger to body modification and someone who knows how to highlight her assets, Cardi B. posted on X in January 2025, revealing she had her butt crack pierced. When her fans questioned how that could even be possible and if she were telling the truth, Cardi B., true to form, responded with a photo and the accompanying question, "Do I lie?" 

Cardi B.'s piercing is fairly extreme, but if you want to get even more adventurous, you can. For example, yes, you can actually have your anus pierced, which is also called a suitcase piercing. This can be a great complement for those who are butt play beginners or seasoned anal enthusiasts, both aesthetically and from a physically pleasurable standpoint. You can also opt for a perineum piercing, also known as a guiche piercing.

While she hasn't exactly flaunted her "wild" piercing, Lizzo told TMZ in 2022 that she had just gotten her "coochie" pierced. Shortly before Lizzo had the run-in with the paparazzi, she hosted a piercing party for her team, which she posted on TikTok, where she got a few different piercings — and apparently one was in her vulva.

"I have so many piercings right now, I never thought I'd be this girl," Lizzo told TMZ. "You can't see my coochie, I can't show you ... I can't show you! I can't show TMZ my p***y!" During the same interaction with TMZ, Lizzo expressed her interest in posing for Playboy — and with so many new body embellishments, that would definitely be a fun shoot to see. 

Although not as racy as a butt or genital piercing, Kali Reis has her own take on wild piercings. The boxer and actor not only has several visible tattoos, but facial piercings too. While most celebrities who, when they get facial piercings, play it safe by sticking to creative piercing trends like the nose or maybe an eyebrow, these piercings are rarely around very long. Reis has a nose ring, a septum ring, and piercings on each of her cheeks.

In February 2024, Reis told The Standard how some of her fans were sharing with her that they got the same cheek piercings that she has. "I'm like, 'Oh God, no, no, no,'" Reis told the website. "I mean, I've had them since 2009. I've been boxing the whole time with them... and I thought getting this job was gonna be the job where I'm like, 'Alright, we're gonna finally have to take my piercings off, it's fine.' But every job I've had, they've loved them."

In September 2011, while doing a photoshoot for Vanity Fair, Lady Gaga accidentally (or maybe on purpose?) revealed that she had her vulva pierced, via photos from Gawker. This was also about the same time that rumors were circulating that Gaga had a penis, a crass point that the Gawker reporter mentioned while questioning if the pierced body part that was spotted was actually her "penis nubbin." Either way, Gaga rocking a genital tattoo was probably on everyone's 2011 bingo card, so classic celeb wardrobe malfunction or not, it's a testament to just how far Gaga will go for art and being an absolute original. 

When it comes to wild and saucy piercings, Christina Aguilera has had them all. On April 16, 2018, Aguilera posted a photo of herself on Instagram getting her ear pierced, with the caption, "Forgot how much I love getting pierced ... so euphoric for me ... wonder what else I should get done again." In the same post, Aguilera included a slide that was a diagram of the 11 piercings she's had, including her tongue, nipple, and clitoris. The reason for that latter piercing? "It just seemed erotic in a place most people wouldn't have the guts to do it," Aguilera told Rolling Stone in 2002, adding, "You hear things like, 'Oh, it will help you reach sexual heights' — whatever — but I just think it's pretty. I think it accents things quite well."

In 2004, Aguilera told Contact Music (via Life & Style), that she was over her body piercings. "I'm rebelling against myself," she said at the time. "I've taken out all of my piercings apart from one in my right nipple. That's for me. I had piercings when I was down. There's a comfort to me in pain."
