Here's What Monica From Yellowstone Looks Like In Real Life

"Yellowstone" is one of America's most beloved shows, so it's only fitting that the actors who bring the characters and show to life are equally adored. Among them are some of teleivion's most iconic female characters to date, like Teeter, who is played by Jen Landon or Monica, portrayed by actor Kelsey Asbille. Monica is the wife of Kayce Dutton, and she has been a major character of the series ever since its debut season in 2018. The character is reserved, but is a fierce mother who will stop at nothing to protect her son, Tate, from the Dutton clan chaos that often ensues. As reserved as she is, Monica is seen dressed conservatively while representing her Native American heritage through patterned sweaters, patched denim jackets, and Native American jewelry.

Actor, Kelsey Asbille, is part Cherokee, English, and Chinese. This was actually quite controversial when the series first started gaining popularity, as the Native American tribe stated there was no record of her in their documents. The backlash was so bad that people boycotted the show because of her casting as they felt there were actual Native American actors who were more deserving of the role. But, Asbille weathered through this storm, successfully portrayed Monica for five seasons, and is now loved by many loyal fans of the hit series.

The actor's portrayal of Monica is so compelling that fans of the show may be shocked to see that she is a completely different person in real life. From the way Asbille dresses to the way she presents herself, she is the polar opposite of her "Yellowstone" character, Monica.

Kelsey Asbille's red carpet looks are absolutely stunning and scream IT girl

For actors, red carpet looks are just as important as their performances in projects. It's a way for them to showcase their style in real life and make a statement beyond the roles they play on screen. Kelsey Asbille definitely understands the assignment, and told Who What Wear in an interview that "... it's important to be thoughtful without taking yourself too seriously." She obviously does an excellent job doing that. In 2022, the actor walked the Screen Actors Guild Awards' red carpet in a stunning metallic silver dress from Commission styled with Jimmy Choo sandals. She accessorized the look with one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces from David Yurman.

Her most recent red carpet look was for her Netflix film, "Don't Move" with Finn Wittrock. And, of course, the "One Tree Hill" actor didn't disappoint. Asbille walked the red carpet in a sheer black one shoulder dress with a beautiful sequin detail by Ludovic de Saint Sernin. For this effortlessly chic and minimal look, the actor chose to go accessory-free to truly highlight the sheer and bold dress. The actor doesn't just show up in completely different outfits, but she also loves to grace the red carpet with hairstyles that go so well with her looks for the glamorous events. From long hair with layered curls or short hair with face-framing layers, she honestly looks fabulous in them all. The actor is truly a different person at each and every red carpet.

When off-duty, Kelsey expresses the way she feels through the way she dresses

When actors are off-duty, it's their time to best express themselves as who they really are in real life. Sometimes, actors might resemble some of the on-screen characters they've played, but Kelsey Asbille is nothing like her many characters, such as Monica from "Yellowstone" or Gigi from "One Tree Hill." Her casual looks are effortlessly chic, and she's the embodiment of a cool city girl who would definitely turn heads on the streets. To add to her already cool girl persona, she told the New York Post that she likes to keep things private. This is very true, as, unlike many actors who keep fans updated with their day-to-day lives, it's rare for Asbille's fans to get an update from her on social media. When it comes to her personal everyday style, the actor explained to Vogue that, "I look for ease and simplicity on my days off ... I like jeans with a men's button-down or T-shirt. It actually makes me feel more feminine."
