Erin Andrews Outfits That Were Total Fashion Fails

Erin Andrews is most known as a TV personality and sports commentator, co-hosting "Dancing With The Stars" since 2014 after competing in Season 10 and being an NFL sideline reporter for Fox Sports since 2012. The Maine native has also established herself as a fashion figure, wearing dazzling dresses during her hosting gig and launching her own line of women's sports merch in 2019.  "I like to look at myself like I wear a tomboyish kind of vibe. I love a T-shirt, I love a bomber, I love a jean shirt, I'm always in a hoodie," she told People about the inspiration for her clothing line. "I love having team spirit, I love having an organization to support, but I want to do it in a kind of subtle and fashionable way."

Still, just as Taylor Swift has had outfits that simply didn't work and Brittany Mahomes has had some look-ruining makeup mistakes, plenty of fashionable celebs make choices that miss the mark. And Andrews has experienced her fair share of fashion fails.

Erin's old game day look was bulky and mismatched

Our first fashion misstep comes from 2007, with Erin Andrews donning a preppy, business-oriented look while on the sidelines of a college football showdown between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Florida State Seminoles. The sports expert wore a textured, short-sleeved cardigan over a white button-down shirt, styling the pieces under a brown, double-buckled belt. She also donned a pair of black, pinstripe trousers and accessorized with an assortment of bracelets and a necklace with circular pendants.

Back in 2013, Andrews opened up to USA Today about her game-day style, describing her aesthetic as "preppy" and "Kate Middleton"-inspired. "I have to be careful that it's not too provocative, not too sexy, but also something a typical sports fan can relate to," she told the outlet. While we can definitely see the inspiration behind this look, the layering and color coordination ultimately missed the mark. The short-sleeved piece and button-up didn't pair well, with the belt adding even more bulk to the look. Additionally, while we're not hard-and-fast followers of the fashion rule prohibiting the mixing of brown and black, the colors clashed in this business-casual look.

Erin's nose-picking graphic tee was an interesting look

2015 marks our next sartorial moment, with Erin Andrews attending DirecTV's Super Saturday Night event ahead of Super Bowl Sunday. For the star-studded music show, the sports enthusiast wore a sharp-looking blazer over a gray graphic tee, pairing the pieces with black pants and strappy, peep-toe heels. She accessorized with black nail polish, a simple necklace, and stud earrings. While we're fans of the blazer-and-t-shirt combo as a trendy business casual look — with Andrews definitely bringing some powerful confidence to the outfit — we're not so convinced about the image featured on her T-shirt.

The V-neck top depicts a stylized photo of model and actor Brooklyn Decker with her finger in her nose, which may have been Andrews' attempt to bring a quirkiness to her late-night ensemble. It's likely that Andrews donned the shirt to support her friend's charity efforts, with Decker writing on Instagram that proceeds from t-shirt purchases would go to the Haiti-based initiative English in Mind. However, the nose-picking shirt is emblematic of the quirky 2010s humor we think is best left in the past.

This sheer gala dress looked like it was missing a slip

Another questionable Erin Andrews look comes from a 2017 charity event held by the Women's Cancer Research Foundation, themed "An Unforgettable Evening." Andrews attended the event after being diagnosed with cervical cancer and undergoing successful surgery in 2016, with the sportscaster advocating for awareness around women's health since then. "I'm out there to encourage women to get to your doctor and go get checked," she told People. "Cervical cancer is preventable and treatable but our goal is to get women to their doctors. Women shouldn't be dying of this."

For the occasion, Andrews wore a navy blue, off-the-shoulder dress from J. Mendel, with the sheer fabric of the garment revealing her high-waisted underwear. The former "Dancing With the Stars" host opted for simple styling, wearing black, open-toed heels, small earrings, and a black clutch. She also pulled her hair back into a parted ponytail and wore a nude-toned lip color for a chic look. While we definitely admire Andrews' health journey and advocacy, this outfit feels like she accidentally left the house without putting on a slip. It's possible that the peek-a-boo moment was intended to reference the star's experience with cervical cancer, but the message isn't really clear.

The star's white pants looked like a tripping hazard

Erin Andrews' next outfit comes from the 2022 Fox Upfront event, an annual media presentation and meet-and-greet. The sports reporter wore a cropped, collared shirt in beige, pairing the piece with white, wide-legged pants. She accessorized with a variety of gold bracelets, hoop earrings, and an assortment of rings, wearing her side-parted hair in voluminous waves. While we appreciate elements of the outfit, the pants are where things fell apart.

Puddle pants have definitely been making a resurgence in recent years, with fashion lovers and celebs taking inspiration from the baggy pants trends of the '90s. Even Kate Middleton, who's had a major style transformation, has been seen rocking the fad. However, Andrews' bottoms go beyond bunching at the ankles or covering the shoes, with the white garment pooling excessively on the floor to look like a major tripping hazard. With a bit of hemming or even a taller heel, this outfit could've been great, but as it was, we just hope Andrews made it through the event unscathed.
