Avery From Yellowstone Is Gorgeous In Real Life

Yellowstone's Avery, in her own words, "fights off men for a living." And if you're spending your days as a tough, no-nonsense ranch hand in Montana, your wardrobe better be as tough. Avery's look is built for survival. The character favors ease of movement, with straight-leg jeans and unstructured outerwear. It's a sartorial world constructed around muted earth tones, sun-faded and grit-coated: the perfect mirror of the untamed landscapes she calls home. The wardrobe is rugged and totally practical, but interestingly, it's completely at odds with the woman who brings her to life.

Offscreen, though, actor Tanaya Beatty trades in "Yellowstone's" denim and dust for something far more refined. Spotted at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, she left a lasting impression in a red, off-the-shoulder gown. The look boasted an intriguing, dramatic cut, with its draped bodice, delicate pleating, a floor-length hem, and sultry thigh-high slit.

The unabashedly feminine ensemble — which she also posted to Instagram — offered a beguiling glimpse into the Canadian actress' cool and commanding real-world persona. Though there will always be a place in the trend cycle for chic Western-inspired fashion (just look to Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour), Beatty proves there's a lot of glamour and sophistication to be found beyond the ranch.

Tanaya Beatty's style signature is seriously sumptuous

Tanaya Beatty's other red carpet moments have only cemented just how sharp her personal style really is. A year before her red-dress revolution, she arrived at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of "Hochelaga, Terre des Âmes" in shadowy elegance. She slipped into a sleek, asymmetrical black dress (yet another example of a celebrity LBD that proves the outfit's versatility). Draped over her shoulders was a long, textured coat in charcoal that gave us more office siren and editorial spread than anything found on a Montana ranch.

Her approach to beauty also speaks volumes about her aesthetic sensibility. Her long hair is often left loose, and she frequently turns to no makeup. Keeping things minimal but with maximum impact, her choices make for a louche, magnetic, and insouciant personal style. There is no doubt that Avery and Beatty both leave their mark, just in wildly and wonderfully different ways.
