Sydney Sweeney's Inappropriate Wedding Guest Outfit Is Her Biggest Fashion Faux Pas To Date
Sydney Sweeney is an actress best known for her role in the hit HBO series "Euphoria," which we are glad is finally in the works again, but like countless other celebrities, she has made headlines for the wrong reasons. In March 2025, the star had people talking about wedding drama. Along with causing a stir due to her red flags with her fiancé Jonathan Davino, Sweeney was spotted at "Anyone But You" co-star Glen Powell's sister's wedding wearing a not-so-appropriate dress.
In a photo shared to bride Leslie Powell's Instagram stories, Powell and Sweeney are all smiles in their formal attire. However, standing next to the bride, Sweeney's light blue, corset dress and heart neckline almost gives wedding dress. Fans sounded off when the photo was shared on X, getting over 19 million views.

One fan commented, "if someone went to my wedding with this dres[s], they will be asked nicely to go away under the penalty of a bath of red wine." Another person said, "yeah of course she had to try to upstage the bride."
What not to wear at a wedding and what to wear instead
Many people have known for years now that there are certain dos and don'ts when it comes to guest decorum at weddings, with a major one being: it's not okay to propose at another person's wedding. These unspoken guest rules also go for the attire. So, if you do not want to cause any drama, try not to wear white to a wedding, or in Sydney Sweeney's case, you should also avoid white adjacent colors as well, and dresses that are too revealing.
So, make sure you have paid close attention to the dress code the married-couple-to-be has set. A lot of the time, the dress code is included on RSVPs or save the dates. Some of the most recurring attire requests are black or white-tie, cocktail, casual, tropical/destination, themed and semi-formal. You can easily Google each style to find examples of what is appropriate.
Once you know what the dress code is, the next step is finding the right outfit. The Knot, an online wedding-planning platform, suggested considering the season, location and time of day, along with cultural etiquette. The platform added that you should make sure to add accessories to your outfit as they "have the power to completely enhance your look."
