Lauren Boebert's Go-To Outfit Is Keeping Her On The Worst-Dressed List
If there's anything we've learned from the Trump administrations, it's that the politicians on his side of the aisle have no idea how to dress. From Karoline Leavitt's boatload of outfits that totally missed the mark to Sarah Huckabee Sander's affinity for outdated trends, it's safe to say that Trump's yes women desperately need makeovers.
While the list of these fashion disasters is longer than Trump's ties, Lauren Boebert, U.S. representative for Colorado's 4th congressional district, is definitely a standout of in the sea of badly dressed women roaming the Capitol. If you haven't noticed, Boebert has a go-to piece that she wears every single day: an ill-fitting blazer. Although she alternates pairing it with pants and skirts, she never wavers from these blazers that are, to be frank, far too small for her. However, in Boebert's defense, she didn't wear one of these blazers when she was kicked out of a musical performance of "Beetlejuice" in Denver in 2023, proving she does own other articles of clothing.
No one knows why Boebert keeps returning to his particular item — maybe Trump complimented her once — but it's something she's really into, and hopes of her giving it up appear grim. If you want to avoid looking like Lauren Boebert or, more importantly, not be caught in a blazer that reeks of Y2K revival fashion that's gone horribly wrong, then knowing how a blazer should fit is key.
How Boebert can help herself
Although the first thing Lauren Boebert could do to help herself would be to find some empathy, since that's probably not in the cards, the focus shall stay on her blazer situation. For starters, since menswear outfits on women is a big 2025 trend, that also means that oversized blazers are very much all the rage right now. So Boebert's take on the classic piece is outdated — in addition to the fit being all wrong.
If Boebert doesn't want to take the fashionista approach and choose to wear a blazer as it's supposed to be worn, meaning it looks effortlessly chic, then she needs to take her bust into consideration. According to Primark's Penneys, while a blazer should pull in at the waist a bit, it should also comfortably fit the bust. In other words, there shouldn't be the gaping opening in the chest area, as Boebert has every time she wears a blazer.
If Boebert wanted to wear a blazer correctly so she doesn't look like she's trying to summon the spirit of 1995, she could easily buy one that fits her, then opt for one of the most universally flattering clothing hacks of all time: tailoring. But considering Boebert is on a very important mission at the moment to rename D.C. the "District of America," her ill-fitting blazers probably aren't at the top of her to-do list.
