Lauren Boebert's Most Woefully Outdated Outfits Since Joining Congress
When it comes to fashion, Lauren Boebert can't win. Not only does Boebert have a whole slew of outfits that were complete misses, but even her recent college football game 'fit put her dated style on full display. While it's not uncommon for someone to lean into their favorite looks from their youth, if you're going to pull off a bygone style, you need to be smart about it, choosing pieces that transcend time. However, this appears to be something that Boebert has yet to figure out.
Since being elected to Congress in 2020, Boebert has made it very easy to poke fun at her fashion choices. Like Pam Bondi and her penchant for pantsuits ripped from the '70s, Boebert also seems to be clueless as to what decade she's living in. Even when it looks as though she might be entering 2025, she takes things in the wrong direction.
While there isn't a MAGA woman in the world who will be winning any sort of fashion award, some can take solace in knowing that, at least most days, they're dressing for the decade in which they live. Although Boebert's wardrobe is pretty boring and she repeats a lot of looks, it's the woefully outdated outfits that we can't ignore. Mostly because she wears them on a regular basis.
Boebert should leave cutout tops in the early 2000s
Although cutout designs come in and out of fashion, cutout dresses officially became outdated in fall 2023. However, that hasn't stopped Boebert from clinging onto the look hard — as evidenced here. While the blazer in this case does a decent job of hiding the cutout top, as well as elevating it a bit, the fact remains that Boebert showed up to her job in 2025 wearing something that belongs in 2005. Plus, even in their prime, cutout pieces were never exactly considered work attire, but as we've already seen with the Trump administration, the White House is different now.
The skinny jeans-blazer combo has been over for a long time
Of all the things about Lauren Boebert that keep fashionistas awake all night, the most glaring is the outdated denim trend that she just won't give up: skinny jeans. Still, if you love this style so darn much that you refuse to let it go, you can style skinny jeans so they don't look outdated. For Boebert, that would mean giving up her go-to outfit that's keeping her on the worst-dressed list: the ill-fitting blazers. These aren't just unflattering, but they also reek of the early 2000s, something that's amplified even more when Boebert wears them with skinny jeans.
Boebert needs to kiss gladiator sandals and bandage dresses goodbye
Lauren Boebert wears a lot of skin-tight dresses and, frankly, good for her. But the bandage dresses of the early aughts have been out of style for a while. While this dress could be modernized, Boebert doesn't seem to have an interest in such a thing, as evidenced by her gladiator sandals that go all the way up to the middle of her calf. If this were the mid-2010s and Boebert was wearing this look at Coachella — the hat especially — she'd be the coolest woman in the Colorado Desert. But the problem is that this photo is from August 2024.
Peplum hems may be a MAGA fave, but they scream 1990s
Although the peplum got a modern makeover back 2023/2024, this peplum hem is a far cry from those stylish iterations. While the peplum here isn't at the waist, making it not excessively out of style, it's still a fairly archaic look. Boebert could have gotten a few points for those metallic heels, but they don't look like they were an intentional choice, rather something she pulled from the closet because she thought they'd go with the coral of the dress. A color that, because of her fake tan, isn't doing her any favors.
Store-bought distressed jeans were never actually in style
If you're someone who wears jeans regularly, you know the best pairs are the ones that have been lived-in, where every tear or rip has a story. But in the 1980s, pre-ripped jeans became popular among luxury brands, a major contrast to what they stood for in the counterculture of the time. In other words, Lauren Boebert's store-bought, pre-shredded jeans were never actually cool. And while they may have been in style in certain circles for a hot minute, that was a couple of decades back. In fact, as we saw throughout all of 2025, the once-popular distressed look is totally over.
