Why Sex Gets Better With Age

There's this common misconception that once you reach a certain age, you stop having sex.

Because you're viewed as "old," people assume you quit going at it and stay at home in your rocker baking cookies for your grandkids.

We know that's false, and so does science.

Scroll below to discover all the reasons why sex gets better with age to see if you agree!

1. You're More Comfortable With Your Body

As you grow older, you slowly become more confident with your body. Rather than pointing out every flaw, you learn to appreciate the skin you're in. When you're more comfortable with who you are, you're able to fulfill every sexual desire you have. No longer are you worried that you're not doing something right or don't look "hot" while performing any and every sexual act. Instead, you can just do it.

2. You're All Sorts of Adventurous

With an increasing sense of self-confidence, you'll find yourself feeling a bit more adventurous in the bedroom than you once were. You're more willing to try new positions and acts that you were once terrified to partake in. A study found that 89 percent of women over 45 enjoyed varying positions and locations more than they did when they were in their younger years. Get creative, folks!

3. It's Easier to Achieve an Orgasm

Achieving that big O while going at it with your partner isn't always possible no matter how great the sex is. But as you age, it becomes a bit easier to experience an orgasm. A recent survey showed that 70 precent of women in their 40s and 50s were able to orgasm the last time they had sex, compared to the 61 percent of women that were able to achieve one at the ages of 18 to 24. So if you still haven't experienced a euphoric orgasm, give it some time.

4. Sex Becomes More Personal

When you're younger, you have no problem going at it like a rabbit. Arousal happens pretty quickly, so it didn't take much for you to get turned on and feel properly lubricated down there. Now that you're older, it takes a little bit more effort to feel ready for penetration. But that's not a bad thing, it's actually a great thing. Spending time getting all riled up creates a greater feeling of intimacy and purpose, making it that much better for you and your partner.

5. You're More Skilled

Being on this planet for as long as you have, you've been around the bend a few times, so you know what good, nay, great sex feels like. Practice makes perfect, and after having intercourse for as long as you have, you've figured out what you like, don't like, and what you're really, really amazing at. Skilled partners make for better sex. It's as simple as that. And if you don't believe us, maybe you'll believe senior sexpert Joan Price, who insists sex does get better with age.
