Are you new to the wonderful world of crystals? Has something drawn you to them, and do you have an incredible urge to collect as many as possible, but have no idea where to begin? There are thousands of different crystals and stones with many different properties in existence, and aside from being very beautiful, they all hold tremendous healing potential. The word crystal derives from the Ancient Greek word krustallos, meaning both "ice", "rock crystal", and "icy cold, frost". A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules, or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions. Crystals found in rocks typically range in size from a fraction of a millimeter to several centimeters across, although exceptionally large crystals are occasionally found. Some crystals have formed by magmatic and metamorphic processes, giving origin to large masses of crystalline rock. The vast majority of igneous rocks are formed from molten magma and the degree of crystallization depends primarily on the conditions under which they solidified. Take this quiz now and see if you can recognize 18 of the Earth's crystals that hold immense healing powers and if you really are able to harness the powers of crystals. Identify crystals like selenite, black tourmaline, shungite, Eye of the Storm (otherwise known as Judy's Jasper) and more to show how much of a crystal expert you really are!
