'Grey's Anatomy' Might Leave Netflix Soon, So We'll Be Busy For A While
Is 'Grey's Anatomy' Leaving Netflix Soon?
The streaming wars have officially begun. Now Disney's new streaming service, Disney+, is on the horizon, many shows under the Disney umbrella are being pulled, or expected to be pulled, from Netflix. But, will Grey's Anatomy leave Netflix anytime soon? Unfortunately, as Grey's Anatomy is made by ABC, a Disney company, it looks like Grey's Anatomy will be pulled from Netflix sometime in the future.
As reported by Deadline, Grey's Anatomy is "a huge Netflix draw that will be pulled from the platform soon in order to be marshaled for Disney’s soon-to-launch streaming service."
So, if you were planning to binge all 14 seasons of Grey's on Netflix, you might want to consider starting now. If Deadline statement is correct, then it's possible that the series could be taken off the streaming service by the end of the year, when Disney+ is expected to make its debut.
That being said, this news is ultimately speculation. While Deadline is a legitimate source and probably would not state the news if it were not true, no one from the Grey's team, Netflix, or Disney have confirmed Grey's Anatomy's departure from Netflix for Disney+.
Regardless, fans can find peace in the fact that the current season of Grey's Anatomy is now airing on ABC with new episodes readily available to stream on Hulu the next day. This, of course, will likely not change, since Disney now owns 60% of Hulu after the merge with Fox.
