'Grey's Anatomy' to Introduce Derek Shepherd's Fourth Sister in Season 15
Another day, another Shepherd!
Derek's Fourth Sister Is Coming to 'Grey's Anatomy' & We Are Freaking Out
Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) will always have a special place in a Grey's Anatomy fan's heart. Even with all the crazy things that have happened in the seasons post-Derek, you never really can forget him. He's Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) guy and not to mention the father to her children, Amelia's (Caterina Scorsone) brother, and our McDreamy.
While we know that we can never get him back – other than a few heartwrenching flashback scenes – we know the showrunners will throw in a few nuggets that remind us of older seasons.
Now, a piece of information has been confirmed that will surely bring on a few old memories.
Are you ready for this news, Grey's Anatomy fans? Because we're not so sure.
Entertainment Weekly recently revealed that another Shepherd is going to arrive at Grey Sloan.
Yes, ABC is on the hunt for an actress to play Kathleen Shepherd, the only one of Derek's four sisters who fans have yet to meet.
The medical drama already introduced Nancy (Embeth Davidtz) in season 3 and Liz (Neve Campbell) in season 9. And of course, we know Amelia, who made her debut on the Grey's Anatomy spinoff Private Practice before landing a role on the flagship series.
So what will bring Kathleen to Grey's Anatomy in season 15?
Well, according to EW, Kathleen will be introduced in the standalone episode entirely devoted to Amelia, which was confirmed by showrunner Krista Vernoff shortly after ABC added three additional episodes to the season.
As of now, we don't know a whole lot about Kathleen other than, like her siblings, she is a doctor. However, rather than surgery, Kathleen tackles mental health as a psychiatrist.
But, does this mean that Kathleen will arrive to help Amelia with her demons this season? Unfortunately, her role remains a mystery. So fans will just have to wait and see.
