PinkSeoul Plus Box Review

Skincare for older women is often overlooked, especially when it comes to Korean beauty, where the standard is youthful perfection and nothing less.

Often times when I see Korean skincare brands in the U.S. or even Korean subscription boxes available online, I see that they are catered to a younger demographic.

The truth is, the way you take care of your skin in your 20s should be different than when you're over 35 and the older demographic should be catered to more without fear of being compared to their younger selves.

Luckily, if you're shopping for a new K-beauty subscription box for your maturing skin, PinkSeoul has you covered with their PinkSeoul Plus Box. And just you wait, we haven't even gotten to the best part yet.

PinkSeoul is a Korean beauty monthly subscription box that is customized according to your skin type. You will receive full-sized products in each box that are customized and curated just for you. They also offer three types of boxes, as well as the option to buy individual items on their site.

Here is a breakdown of each box:

The Mask Box

The PinkSeoul Plus Box

  • Contains: Four full-sized K-beauty products that are recommended for ages 35+ and an accessory

How Does It Work?

So, how does PinkSeoul work?

All you need to do is select which box you want. Next, you will be prompted to select your skin type, skin color, and what areas of concern you are focusing on, including pigmentation, pores, acne, wrinkles, and experimenting with K-beauty.

Each item will then be curated for you based on your selections and you will receive the box every two months.

Pay It Forward Program

If you weren't already excited about the PinkSeoul subscription boxes, then you should know about the company's #payitforward initiative.

Every week since 2016, PinkSeoul sends two skincare boxes to women battling cancer to make their days just a little bit brighter.

If you are or know someone who is fighting cancer, then please check out their page.

My Experience With PinkSeoul's Plus Box

Now, let's dive into the review, shall we?

After giving PinkSeoul my skin preferences and waiting a few weeks for the box to arrive at my doorstep, I received the perfect little box with four full-sizes items, two face masks, one accessory item, and one sheet filled with everything I needed to know about each product.

Here is what I received for my oil skin type, medium skin tone, and focus on having fun and experimenting with K-beauty.

Etude House Soon Jung Dry Capsule Sheet | Retail: $6

This product was a nice little surprise in my box and it was hard not to love it since I could use my favorite toner or essence on it. I personally used the Hada Labo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion toner with these masks and it was perfect.

Kocomei Flower Scent Toner | Retail: $13

While I was a little thrown off by the smell of this toner, my skin seemed to love it. It's packed with a ton of great ingredients like hyaluronic acid to keep my skin moisturized, aloe, and tea tree. There's also witch hazel in it, which managed my skin's sebum well enough. However, is it up to Hada Labo-level? Time will tell.

Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence; Grab Water | Retail: $58

I wish this product's retail value was lower because I really enjoyed this product and have no idea what I'm going to do after I run out. My skin took in the essence like a dream, leaving me feeling moisturized and properly prepped for the rest of my skincare routine.

FromNature Red Ginseng Eye Wrinkle Solution Treatment | Retail: $22

I will admit that I am not the best at remembering when to apply eye cream. But, half of that is simply because most eye creams tend to give me milia. This has yet to break out my under-eye area, but I haven't seen any drastic changes in terms of bags under my eyes. So this might need more time to see its effects.

Welcos Aloe Vera Moisture Soothing Gel & Mist | Retail: $10

Simple to use and even simpler ingredients, this mist is great for summertime when it gets too hot and dry for my liking. The information sheet also mentioned that this product is good for damaged hair and nails, but I didn't see any significant difference when I tried it.

PACKage Korea Deep Sleeping Mask | Retail: $3

Natural Friend Posoo Mask | Retail: $4

Both of these were great face masks that left my skin feeling moisturized and calm. I especially liked the sleeping mask because the lavender in it had me relaxing for the rest of the night.

Was It Worth It?

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the PinkSEOUL Plus Box. It was simple to use, receive, and the full-sized products in the box spoke for themselves. I love that the company tried to curate the box based on my skin type, a feature that is missing from most K-beauty subscriptions. I also appreciate that they cater to an older demographic with their Plus Box. However, it's a bit disappointing that it costs $10 more than the regular box.

Overall, the retail value of the box I received was $116, which means that I would have saved about $76. And considering the products that I did love, I'd say that this box was worth it.
