About Amanda McCracken

Amanda McCracken is a late-in-life virgin who gained worldwide recognition through her New York Times article titled “Does My Virginity Have a Shelf Life?”. After dating 100 men and realizing she was longing for the unattainable man, Amanda attended therapy and set out to find herself and learn what she truly desired. Through her transitional journey, she met the man of her dreams and ended her 41-year-old virginity.

Amanda has become an intimacy advocate who speaks and writes about sexual empowerment. She uses her words to inspire those around her and encourage authentic, loving, and long-lasting connections between partners.

“Often, people automatically think that because I decided to abstain from sex until I found a mutually loving and committed relationship, I also expected them to do the same. This was a personal choice, not an expectation of others,” she says. “People often associate voluntary celibacy with religious brainwashing, not empowerment. But true sexual empowerment lies in freely making a choice to act or abstain, not in living up to an expectation set by anyone else.”
