8 Skincare Advent Calendars You'll Want To Get Your Hands On In 2023
If you're anything like us, you love yourself an advent calendar. One of the very best parts of holiday season is being able to give yourself a little treat every morning before a dreary day at work. But, sometimes, a traditional chocolate calendar (as much as love them) just doesn't quite cut it. Instead, it sometimes it's just more fun to open up a window or a draw that has a product behind it we can actually get a lot of use out of and try without having to buy a bunch of expensive full-size products. Enter the skincare advent calendar.
Beauty product advent calendars have really been taking off over the past few years, and now it seems like almost every brand out there is offering a mix of full-size and minis of their bestselling products in advent calendar form. But because there are just so many on offer, how on earth are we supposed to know which ones are packed with goodies and which ones are just giving us the castoffs that didn't sell? Well, we're doing all the legwork for you just in time for the Holidays to roll around. Take a look at some of our very favorite skincare advent calendars for Christmas 2023.
L'Occitane is offering luxury with its 2023 advent calendar
The popular French skincare leader L'Occitane is another company getting in on the Holiday spirit this year. The company's 2023 Premium Advent Calendar contains 24 of its top products, which includes skincare, body care, hair care, and Holiday fragrance items designed for those who want to improve their skin's dryness or may be experiencing a loss of elasticity in their skin.
The calendar, which is priced at $140, isn't just full of minis, either. It actually contains six full-sized products inside its colorfully designed draws. Amongst the skincare goodies you could be enjoying with this calendar? A 14ml bottle of L'Occitane's Immortelle Divine Foaming Cleansing Cream, a 5ml version of the company's Overnight Reset Serum, and a 10ml bottle of Immortelle Precious Emulsion. All together, L'Occitane claimed the 24 products included have a combined value of $240, which could mean a saving of $100.
Dr. Barbara Sturm is in on the advent calendar game, too!
Priced at $560, Dr. Barbara Sturm Advent Calendar 2023 is a bit of a splurge, but it features $1,606 worth of items this year, according to its website.
The advent calendar contains 24 of the company's innovative skincare products, including a 20ml deluxe size of the brand's Super Anti-Aging Cleansing Cream. Amongst the other goodies on offer? A 10ml miniature version of Dr. Barbara Sturm's hyaluronic serum for darker skin tones, a 15ml deluxe version of the brand's Super Anti-Aging Night Cream, and a deluxe 30ml version of Dr. Barbara Sturm's Balancing Toner. The calendar contains products designed for those will a wide range of skin types (including normal, dry, combination, and oily skin), while the items can help fight the likes of fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness on the skin.
Sephora's advent calendar is packed full of beauty goodies
There's a reason Sephora is one of the biggest leaders in the beauty and skincare world. And this advent calendar proves it. The company's take on the luxury Holiday tradition via the Sephora Collection Advent Calendar combines products from the makeup, skincare, bath, and beauty accessory world, with 24 little gifts to enjoy from December 1 right up until Christmas Eve.
Among the skincare goodies you can expect to receive are cult favorites like Sephora's Cucumber Eye Mask, Sephora's Carbon Charcoal Nose Strip, and the company's Brightening Eye Cream (amongst plenty of others). According to Sephora, this limited edition advent calendar has a $93 value, but it'll only set you back $49. It's also doing its bit for the planet, as it's been made using cardboard from sustainably managed sources.
And Clarins' advent calendar has plenty of mini surprises
Longtime skincare leader Clarins is also offering an advent calendar for 2023. The company's 24-Day Advent Calendar contains products from the world of skincare and makeup, all contained in a classic white and gold box that folds up if you're short on space. Inside the sleek box are several familiar products that cover plenty of bases of the skincare world, such as a 1.7oz of Clarins' Beauty Flash Balm, a 0.2oz version of its Total Eye Lift, and a 0.4oz take on the brand's Fresh Scrub Refreshing Cream Scrub. As the name suggests, there are a further 21 products to open up on your way to Christmas Eve.
Clarins' 24-Day Advent Calendar has a $354 value, according to its website, but is priced at $125. Just keep in mind though if you're ordering online from Clarins that the product cannot be shipped to California.
The Body Shop has three advent calendars on offer
The Body Shop is really going all out for 2023, with three different advent calendars on offer. The largest version of the trio is the $195 The Ultimate Advent of Change advent calendar, which the company's website states has a $319 value (and ships free direct from The Body Shop). This product goes one step further than the others on our list with 25 products, which means you'll also have a treat to open up on Christmas morning, too. Just a few of the items you can expect to find inside? A 250ml bottle of The Body Shop's Vitamin E Hydrating Toner, 15ml's of its British Rose Facial Mask, and 50mls of Edelweiss Smoothing Day Cream. The calendar and the products within it all abide by the company's Community Fair Trade program, too.
As for the other two advent calendars? There's The Big Advent of Change, which has a $208 value but costs $125, and The Advent of Change, which is valued at $168, but is priced at $89. As for what you can expect in The Big Advent of Change? 100ml of The Body Shop's Edelweiss Cleansing Concentrate, 20ml of the Vitamin C Glow Boosting moisturizer, and the company's Aloe Sheet Mask. In The Advent of Change, amongst others, there's a 60ml version of Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash, 60ml of the company's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner, and 100g of Pink Grapefruit Soap.
While bareMinerals is offering a 12-day beauty and skincare calendar
Not looking for something quite as lengthy as the many 24-day advent calendars on our list? Then bareMinerals' 12 Days of Joy Holiday Advent Calendar could be a good option. The $110 calendar is valued on the big brand's website as containing $213 worth of products that span the world of both skincare and beauty.
The calendar includes four full-sized products and eight mini items in its recyclable and plastic-free container. All the full-size products are makeup items, while the mini products include several of the brand's popular skincare products. Those include a mini version of the company's SKINLONGEVITY Long Life Herb Serum, a mini AGELESS Phyto-Retinol Night Concentrate, and a mini SMOOTHNESS Bare Haven Soft Moisturizer. Each of the 12 skincare and makeup items contained in the colorful advent calendar are both vegan and cruelty-free, as well as being tested by dermatologists.
Charlotte Tilbury is also mixing makeup and skincare into one advent calendar
Another big company offering a combination of skincare and makeup products in its advent calendar is Charlotte Tilbury. Another shorter take on the classic, Charlotte Tilbury's 2023 advent calendar features 12 stacked up drawers to open in days leading up to Christmas. Those drawers (which are decked out in the company's signature colors) contain two full size products and 10 additional miniature versions of the brand's most popular skincare and makeup products.
Products inside include 8ml of Charlotte's Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir to keep your lips feeling super hydrated, a 15ml travel size version of Charlotte's Magic Cream, and an 8ml take on Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir. The year's advent calendar from the skincare and makeup company is priced at $210, though Charlotte Tilbury's official website values its contents at $279.
While Elemis has a 25-day advent calendar available for 2023
Elemis has its First Class Skincare Advent Calendar on sale for 2023, which contains 25 products designed for use on the face and the body. Worth $749, according to Elemis' website, this $260 advent calendar contains a selection of some of its most sought-after skincare and body care collections.
Amongst the goodies you can expect to see when you open the 25 drawers? A full size of Elemis' Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (that's a 50ml jar), plus a 28ml version of the brand's Pro-Collagen Marine Moisture Essence, and 28mls of Elemis' Dynamic Resurfacing Skin Smoothing Essence. One of the drawers also contains Elemis' new product, the Pro-Collagen Glow Boost Exfoliator, in a 15ml size.
