The Bikini Trend You're Going To See Everywhere During Summer 2024

It's that time again where we're starting to think about our summer wardrobe and what's ahead for bikini season. While we know swimsuit season can come with some dread, we're here to change all that. One way you can keep your confidence level up (because you look incredible in a bikini, and you know it) is by being on trend and, while last year was all about the thong bikini, the way to be stylish for summer 2024 is to rock a red bikini.

We've seen this red hot color on a number of celebrities already this year. In March, Hailey Bieber posted a number of sizzling shots of herself lounging by the water in her simple red string two-piece on Instagram. Kourtney Kardashian has also been rocking the red look, as evidenced by a series of photos shared to her Instagram back in February. Her younger sister Kendall Jenner, has gotten in on the action too, as she posted some very steamy sunset snaps on Instagram while wearing a red, ruffled two-piece in January. So, yeah, it's pretty safe to say everyone is rocking red bikinis this year.

But don't you dare think this trend isn't for you, because believe us when we say there's literally a red bikini out there for everyone. From skimpy string looks to fuller, more supportive designs, we've rounded up some of our favorite red two-piece styles to have you on trend and feeling good all summer long.

Red string bikinis aren't going anywhere

Love them or hate them, the string bikini is here to stay. And a red one will be super hot as the weather turns, well, super hot. A simpler, triangle design is perfect for those who aren't afraid to show a little skin in the summer, though you may find a string top isn't for you if you need a little more support. Instead, you may want to opt for thicker straps or something with underwire.

Tie a bikini bow

To add a little something extra to your red bikini for the season, try something with string ties. We've been seeing the resurgence of bows recently (especially on our coquette nails) so why not bring that feminine touch to your swimwear? Pairing a redtop with a bow in the center with high-waisted bottoms that feature a string tie on the sides will also give you a little more coverage. Perfect for if you're not such a fan of the barely-there string two-piece.

Make your red bikini strapless

Strapless, red bandeau will help eliminate those awkward tan lines (we've all been there) while also accentuating the shoulders. The color and feminine design looks gorgeous against summer tanned skin. You could even add a few ruffles for a fun, unexpected look. But be aware that ruffles add bulk, meaning they're great if you want to add a little extra volume to your top half, but they're to be avoided if you prefer slimline silhouette.

Have fun with red swimwear patterns and designs

The red bikini trend doesn't mean your swimwear has to be 100% red without any other patterns or designs. There's plenty of room to have fun with this swim style and find something that matches your personality. Why not try an itsy bitsy polka dot bikini? Or try out stripes? Or you could really go all out for the summer in a watermelon-inspired two-piece, with green ties and black "seed" print.

Crop top bikinis offer a little more coverage

We totally get that not everyone wants to wear a bikini (even though every body is a bikini body, remember!) But if you prefer something with a little more coverage, then a red crop top two-piece may be more what you're looking for. This is a great way to still be on trend while still feeling comfortable and there are also plenty of different patterns out there with a little more coverage. Plus, we love the fact that bikini tops like these can easily turn into streetwear for extra versatility.
