Times Gwen Stefani Went Makeup Free And Looked Flawless

You'd have to be B-A-N-A-N-A-S to think Gwen Stefani looks anything other than flawless without makeup. Though the former No Doubt singer is almost as famous for her chic cat eye, sometimes her sultry smoky eye, and Taylor Swift-esque red lips as she is her distinctive voice, she's blessed with perfect skin and pouting lips to die for.

But we don't see Stefani sans cosmetics in public all that often, as the singer is a self-confessed makeup aficionado. "It's part of [me] putting the armor on and getting ready to do what I do and be that version of me. It's really therapeutic because it's very artful," Stefani told People in September 2024 of how putting on her makeup is a big part of her pre-show routine. She shared a similar sentiment with Glamour U.K. in June 2022, admitting, "Makeup is one of those things that I could talk about all day long and never get tired of it. I love glam. I never like going to the event [I'm getting glammed up for]. I'm always about the [process]." Stefani loves her makeup so much that she even has her own line of cosmetics, GXVE. But just because she's a fan of glam, it doesn't mean we haven't seen her totally barefaced on occasion. And we've got all the photos that prove in no uncertain terms that Gwen really is a natural beauty.

Back in 2016, Gwen Stefani made a somewhat rare move on Instagram when she shared a photo of herself totally makeup-free. The all natural selfie showed the singer in bed  with messy hair as she gazed into the camera lens. The gorgeous snap proved this superstar really does have incredible, glowing skin under her foundation, and fans couldn't get over how gorgeous she looked. "Wow! You look great all natural!!" one person commented on the snap. She later admitted to People that she took around 10 pictures before finding the perfect angle.

We love that Gwen Stefani feels she can tone down the glam a little when around her husband Blake Shelton, and she proved that with a gorgeous natural photo she shared on Christmas Eve 2022. Stefani posted a video on Instagram as she and her other half celebrated the Holidays at their Oklahoma ranch, which included a shot of the happy couple dressed in almost matching camo. The "Hollaback Girl" flashed a smile without her signature red lip, rocking a blue beanie as she stood alongside her man.

Another time we saw Gwen Stefani sans makeup on Instagram came in June 2018 when she and Blake Shelton enjoyed a day on the water. Stefani shared the selfie, which showed her without makeup as Shelton took the wheel on Lake Texoma, which borders Oklahoma and Texas. The mom of three looked super cute and casual in denim shorts (which can easily be elevated with some simple style tweaks) and an open button down, with her hair seemingly pulled back into a ponytail. 

While getting her hair done in 2016, Gwen Stefani made sure she snapped a selfie while looking totally natural. Stefani left her bright red lipstick at home for the photo posted to Instagram, which showed her rocking black rimmed glasses as her makeup artist Gregory Arlt and hair stylist Danilo Dixon played with her tresses. Judging by her au naturel look, we're guessing the star snapped this selfie before heading for the makeup chair.

You'd think one the one place you're most likely to see Gwen Stefani with a face full of makeup is when she's sitting in the makeup chair, but she actually shared a totally natural photo while getting glam in 2014. The Instagram image showed a bare-faced Stefani getting her brows done by Grogory Arlt, and we couldn't see a single flaw on her bare face. We're not surprised she got a little professional help on her arches though, because good eyebrows can be pretty tough to get right.

While posing with Blake Shelton and two of her sons, Zuma and Kingston, in a 2020 Instagram upload, Gwen Stefani was noticeably sans red lip. The star cut a much more casual figure than we're used to seeing from her while posing with the boys in her life, as she rocked muddy boots, camo pants, and a grey t-shirt. Stefani posted the snap in celebration of Father's Day, thanking Shelton for being a great stepfather to her children (who she shares with her former husband, Gavin Rossdale).

Though we know she loves her makeup, Earth grand trine person Gwen Stefani has proven on more than one occasion that she's not afraid to strike a pose sans cosmetics. And we don't blame her with that flawless skin! In a photo posted to her Instagram account in 2016, "The Voice" coach glowed as she showed off her super long lashes and pouting lips.

Proving that Gwen Stefani wasn't against posing without makeup when she was younger, the star posted this throwback snap of herself, seemingly without a stitch of makeup, on Instagram in 2014. Stefani shared the old image with her followers in 2014 alongside a more recent snap of her rocking her signature red lipstick, so we know for a fact that this superstar has long been a natural beauty.

In July 2016, Gwen Stefani shared a stunning vacation selfie with her Instagram followers before heading out on tour. She told fans in the caption that she was enjoying one final day of soaking up the sunshine as she gazed into the distance with windswept locks. "Yaassss!! Gwen you look absolutely beautiful with no makeup on! #naturalbeauty," one fan commented on the gorgeous upload.

Proving just how comfortable she feels around her now husband Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani shared an Instagram post on Valentine's Day in 2019 that showed her without makeup but with a super cute pair of glasses. While Shelton had some pretty funky hair going on, Stefani flashed a big grin for the selfie. The "Cool" singer's followers were clearly loving her natural look, as one Instagram user wrote in the comments section, "Wow Gwen no makeup beautiful [natural]."

Proving once again that she has no problem ditching the cosmetics around Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani shared the most adorable photo on Instagram in May 2016. The photo showed Stefani looking absolutely gorgeous as she flashed a smile towards the camera while the country star placed a kiss on her cheek. The two proudly posed in front of a tree which they'd sweetly carved "B+G," their initials, into. So cute!

It's not just on Instagram where we've seen Gwen Stefani ditch the makeup. She's also showed off her bare face on her Snapchat account, as she posed the most beautiful selfie with a friend. In the 2016 upload, Stefani gave the camera a sultry look with pouty lips while wearing a green and blue flannel shirt. Stefani covered her friend's face with a heart eye emoji and kiss symbol, but there's no doubting all eyes were on her anyway as she showed off her flawless skin.
