The Best Celebrity Bobs Of 2024 (So Far)

First introduced in the 1910s thanks to flapper culture, the bob haircut has been synonymous with the stage for more than a century. From Louise Brookes on the silent film screen to Catherine Zeta Jones in "Chicago," countless celebrities have sported the short style in their own way, offering inspiration for every generation looking for a new look.

If you're up to date on the hot hair cuts for 2024, then you know the bob is having a resurgence (again). Though this look arguably never goes out of style, it's specifically the French and the Hailey Bieber version that topped our prediction list for the trendiest haircuts of 2024 – and it seems a few celebrities have already taken note. 

Despite not quite being halfway through the year, we've already seen plenty of famous faces go for the chop or change up their existing bobs in some very interesting ways. We've seen Julianne Hough rocking a super short, light variation of the cut, as well likes of the ever-stunning Zendaya and Megan Fox wowing red carpets with their own takes on the shorter style. We can't lie, all this bob-sporting has us ready to head to salon for a chop. We want you to be just as inspired as we are when it comes to a new take on the cut, which is why we're rounding up what we think are the best celebrity bobs we've seen the year ... so far.

As mentioned previously, Hailey Bieber's bob has been one of the most sought after cuts of the year. In February, the star shared a jaw dropping selfie on Instagram that showed us how the look can be a great cut for those who don't want to put too much work into their locks on the daily. The snap showed her hair had been cut just past the chin-length at a slight angle, giving off an totally effortless vibe as she let it fall into place with what appeared to be her natural texture. When paired with her golden-brown, cookie-butter tinged highlights, the look was just right for matching her clean girl aesthetic. Clearly, this star Bieber isn't just an influencer in the nail department.

Another star leading the 2024 charge when it comes to shorth air is Gigi Hadid, whose flippy bob look has taken over Instagram in 2024 . And we totally understand why: It's perfect for those hot summer days (it'll help you feel that breeze on your neck) and it brings some playfulness to the bob style at the same time.  The combination of polished, stick-straight hair and flipped edges looks effortlessly chic; it's also a great way to create volume on thinner hair.

This look will take a little more work than Bieber's more au naturale style, but it's still super easy to achieve. All you need to do is grab your hair straightener and curl the ends of your cut up and away from the face. Apply a light layer of hair spray to keep it in place all day long.

Zendaya has rocked so many iconic haircuts over the years, it certainly was no surprise to us that she once again looked absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous wearing a bob during the "Dune" and "Challengers" press tours. The Emmy-award winner sported a rich, brunette bob with a dramatic side part and curled ends while walking the red carpet at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards in February. The voluminous version of the look exuded old Hollywood glam a la Marilyn Monroe, which is apt for one of the most sought-after actors in the business.

We know, bobs sometimes get a bad rep for being a boring or buttoned-up cut. But Megan Fox made it very clear that a bob doesn't have to be traditional. In April, the "Jennifer's Body" actor debuted a super chic straight version with a dramatic side part  — complete with icy light blue hues. We have to say, this look totally opened our mind to non-traditional colors on an otherwise classic style. She captioned the images "Entering my jedi era," and, honestly, we want to be too!

Katy Perry has rocked pretty much every single hair color over the years, but we have to say, her signature jet black style has to be one of our favorites — especially on short hair. In late April, the "Dark Horse" singer returned to dark tresses for an appearance on "American Idol," complimented by a choppy bob and swoopy side bangs that gave the right mix of modern cool girl with a touch of vintage sophistication. Though Perry later admitted on Instagram that the style was just a wig (an easy hair option so many celebrities opt for), it has inspired us to give the choppier, piece-y version of the cut a go with different lengths, rather than relying on the old classic super blunt and even style we've seen so many times before.
