It probably won't come as too much of a surprise either that she's just as gorgeous without makeup, because this blonde bombshell is blessed with serious natural beauty. In fact, the star has admitted that she spent many years avoiding makeup, and didn't become a fan of cosmetics until she learned more about them on the set of "Euphoria." "I barely could figure out how to do my own eyeliner or find the right color foundation," she admitted to People in 2022. The actor shared a similar story with Into The Gloss that same year, admitting she didn't even wear makeup until she made the move to Los Angeles to become the big star we know her to be today.
A barefaced approach to life is still something that's important to the actor, even now she's super famous. After touching on how the public perceives her to be super glamorous because of her red carpet style, she told Vogue Singapore, "In reality, Sydney Sweeney is a girl who is usually wearing no makeup, jeans and a T-shirt, and running around barefoot outside." Back in 2021, Sydney Sweeney shared some of her best skincare and makeup tips with Vogue – and she went totally makeup-free to do so. The star began the almost 15-minute long clip by showing us her glowing, blemish-free bare skin, proving she's also one of the lucky few with no dark undereye circles, hyperpigmentation issues, or skin discoloration, which can require specific treatments to treat. Viewers immediately took notice. As one fan wrote in a comment with well over 7,000 likes, "She's the type of girl who just uses mascara and lipgloss and would still look like a godess."
But achieving good skin wasn't always effortless for this star. Sweeney shared that she experienced cystic acne growing up due to her sensitive, combination skin. "It was to the point that I would beg my mom not to send me to school," she recalled in the video. "My zits were horrible to the point that I ended up putting Band-Aids all over my face [...] I went to school like that."
As Sweeney walked us through her skincare and makeup routine with her long blonde hair pushed back, she introduced us to some of her very favorite products and reiterated just how important it is to always have sunscreen on hand – yes, even in the winter! And when it comes to makeup, it sounds like this star has learned about how fun cosmetics can be now she's happily settled in California. "I love being able to have more freedom with expressing myself through makeup," she said.

Sydney Sweeney went makeup free for another video in 2022 with Allure to share how she prevents breakouts while keeping her sensitive skin comfortable. The star took us through pretty much her whole skincare routine, which, by the looks of her glowing, soft complexion in the video without a stitch of makeup, most definitely works. Many fans flocked to the video comment section to compliment Sweeney's natural appearance. "Her skin looks SO GOOD," wrote one top commenter, while another exclaimed, "bro she's GLOWING."
Sweeney knows how important it is to keep up with her skin routine, too. "Skincare has definitely gotten more important to me as I've learned the importance of skin care," she admitted in the video. And it seems like Sweeney is so confident in her skincare routine (after all, the better our skincare works the less cosmetics we usually have to use!) that she's willing to show it off to millions. Not only did Sweeney expose her favorite products in the video, she also revealed she actually took them into work to use them as part of her "Euphoria" character Cassie Howard's skincare routine. "You might have seen Cassie do this in her crazy 4 a.m. beauty routine. It's because those products were actually my products that I brought from home, and I went crazy with them," she revealed. Sydney Sweeny ditched the cosmetics for a fun vacation
In April 2024, the star shared a collection of photos on Instagram that showed her having a whole lot of fun in the sun — complete with a hilarious photo of her pulling a face with no makeup at all. The image, which was included last in the batch upload and appeared to be a selfie, showed Sweeney with her eyes closed and her tongue out while rocking a casual gray sweater. She was also rocking a super chic soft bob, which is one of the hottest hair cuts for 2024.
Sweeney appeared to be going without makeup in pretty much every snap included in the multi-image upload, proving once again that she really is one of the most natural beauties out there. Fans appreciated the candid snaps into the star's life. Proving she's definitely comfortable enjoying some of her most intimate and precious moments without makeup, Sydney Sweeney shared another batch upload of photos to her Instagram account in October 2022. That set of snaps also included a few more shots of her without any makeup on, and they're totally stunning.
One of the most adorable pictures in the collection had to be the photo that showed her bared-faced while cuddling up to her dog, who appeared to be asleep in her arms. Sweeney cut a totally casual figure in the candid upload and closed her eyes as she and the canine shared an embrace. The actor appeared to be wearing a black and red flannel bow in her hair and it appeared she didn't have a care in the world as she cared for her adorable four-legged friend, with no foundation, eyeshadow, or lipstick in sight. "Some moments from september that made me happy," she captioned the collection. As with many other Instagram photos, the comments are filled with fans praising the singer's natural beauty. "Your beauty fresh faced is unmatched" wrote one user alongside a gold medal emoji. "Best photos of you are when your just a happy woman relaxing having fun. You can see it in your smile and eyes. Just my opinion," added another.
Makeup appears far from Sydney Sweeney's mind when travelling
Another time it appears Sydney Sweeney likes to let her skin breathe without makeup is when she's travelling. In 2017, she posted another jaw-dropping makeup-free photo of herself on Instagram and revealed she was making her way from Los Angeles to Toronto. In the cute photo, she didn't seem to be wearing a drop of makeup as she gave the camera a coy smile. The golden hour light gave us a good look at her gorgeous skin and blemish-free complexion. We particularly love how she wasn't afraid to show her natural skin texture. She kept her mid-length hair simple by wearing it down with a center part to add to the casual vibe.
One of the reasons we're guessing this star likes to travel sans makeup (aside from the fact she looks so gorgeous either way) is because she's admitted to Allure that traveling can take a toll on her skin, and ditching makeup is a great way to let your skin breathe. "I travel a lot, so I have to make sure I'm giving my face and my skin proper food, proper hydration," she explained of how all that time moving around affects her skincare routine. But, seriously, it should be criminal for someone to look this good without any makeup. To borrow the title of the horror movie she starred in and produced, Sydney Sweeney really is "Immaculate."
