5 2024 Olympic Athletes With Stunning Off-Field Style

We already know the talented athletes taking part in the 2024 Olympic Games will look super stylish when they're on-duty. After all, Ralph Lauren designed Team USA's preppy and sporty ensembles, while Lululemon made fun, print-heavy looks for Team Canada. And did we mention that Louis Vuitton and Dior have both created pieces for the opening ceremony? It shouldn't be so surprising. This is Paris, darlings, one of the most notorious fashion capitals in the world. And, in addition to great competition style, we can expect to see some chic off-duty looks during the games because the roster includes quite the collection of fashionistas.

From Simone Biles' trendy ensembles to Ilona Maher's elegant evening looks, some of the street style we've seen from Olympians in 2024 has us doing backflips. Not literally, of course. We'll leave that to the gymnastics team.

Suni Lee

Team USA gymnast Sunisa "Suni" Lee has made quite the name for herself on social media, with 1.6 million followers on Instagram alone. And we like to think that's at least partly due to the cool, youthful looks the PrettyLittleThing collaborator and Met Gala attendee sports outside the gym. In March 2024, while on a shopping trip, Lee perfectly demonstrated how a crop top and oversized pants can be a fun way to play with proportion. Her Instagram upload showed her wearing on-trend loose jeans (no outdated skinny jeans here!) with white sneakers and a grungy, cropped black logo hoodie that revealed just a little midriff. Fans loved the low-key look, with many in her comments section calling it a "slay. "

We also love how versatile this Olympian's style is. Not only can Lee pull off comfy everyday looks, but she can also work a great evening ensemble, too.
In December 2023, she was bang on-trend with a daring bold red look in jaw-dropping Instagram photos. She wore a figure-hugging, plunging corset top and pleather mini-skirt that highlighted her toned figure and slim waist. All we can say about this look? Wow. Lee also deserves major style points for how invested she is in her outfits. "I love being fashionable whether I'm on the beam or hanging out, so it's so fun for me to pick out my leotard for competitions. The same goes for my workout and street style looks," she told People in 2022.

Ilona Maher

Ilona Maher will hopefully bring it home for Team USA as part of the women's national rugby sevens team. But even if she doesn't, she's already done incredible things for body inclusivity and positivity. Maher is super popular across social media and provides empowering fashion tips that inspire her 1.1 million TikTok followers .

One of our favorite Maher TikToks was posted in May 2024. In the clip, she proudly showed off her athletic shoulders in a strapless cream, blue, and green bodycon dress that exposed her thigh. She looked stunning in the curve-hugging number and wrote on the video, "Ladies, just get your shoulders out. You're not hiding them from anyone." Her confidence totally sold this look, but there's also a more technical reason this outfit worked. Maher's dress featured a large floral print, as bigger prints can help balance out broader frames (small prints, on the other hand, can make your body appear bigger).

In another Instagram shot from August 2023, she kept things chic and sophisticated in a timeless black maxi dress with spaghetti straps. Again, she dressed for her shape, as a square-neckline can create the illusion of narrower shoulders. Clearly, this athlete knows how to dress for her body type, and we're so impressed with her dedication to positivity and confidence through fashion.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce

If you've ever taken a peek at Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's Instagram, or seen her run, you probably already know she's a fan of wearing bright colors. In fact, Fraser-Pryce is such a fan of vibrant shades, that she's not afraid to work them into her hair, too. She famously sported an eye-catching orange ponytail at the 2023 World Athletics Championships that had everyone talking.

For Fraser-Pryce, though, fashion is about more than aesthetics. "I think for me style is unique. Style is something that is personal and unique to you," she explained to SportsMax in 2023. And the 2023 Milan Fashion Week attendee – who's competing in the 2024 Olympics for Team Jamaica – certainly took that mantra to heart. One of her typically eye-catching outfits was featured in a 2022 Instagram upload. The athlete wowed in a high-neck, purple and orange zebra-print maxi dress.

The bold colors can be tough to wear together, but Fraser-Pryce pulled off the curve-hugging number by throwing in matching bright purple accessories that tied the outfit together. But the track and field star isn't just a pro at dressing for the evening. In 2019, an Instagram snap showed her effortlessly cool and colorful casual style, which consisted of a sporty, berry-colored dress paired with pink and purple sneakers. This look gave us total Sporty Spice-esque athletic fashion inspo, which became a major trend in 2024. Instead of relying on classic black and white sporty pieces, Fraser-Pryce's ensemble showed us that practical and comfortable certainly doesn't have to be boring.

Naomi Osaka

Naomi Osaka is another Olympian who has developed quite the fashion following. The tennis superstar has carved out a chic, sophisticated style over the years, which led to her collaboration with the fashion line Adeam, inspired by Japan. "I have always loved fashion," the Team Japan Olympian told Dazed in 2022. "Fashion is about taking chances, and what I love most about it is that there is never a right or wrong — it's more about expression and art."

Osaka showed us how to take fashion chances that pay off in a 2021 Instagram post. She wore a metallic silver mini dress and proved she knew exactly how to accessorize it. She went bold, mixing metals by adding gold pumps. Combining gold and silver was a hot jewelry trend at the time, and it paid off transferring that to her clothes. The dress also featured a strip of material across the waist, which cinched in her middle and made her legs look miles long by breaking up her proportions. Fast-forward to June 2024 and we saw her chic style again, this time in a more everyday way. She shared a selfie on Instagram while wearing an oversized gray sweatshirt with a flirty black mini skirt. Osaka tucked the edge of the sweater in for fashion-forward execution that allowed us to see her shape, giving the outfit some structure. She also got in on the 2024 ballet flat revival and picked a modern, pointed pair to keep her outfit fresh.

Simone Biles

How could we talk about stylish 2024 Olympians and not mention Simone Biles? This superstar is famous for her gymnastic skills, but she's also a pint-sized fashion icon. Her style is so sought after she's also leant her name to clothing collections, having teamed up with Athleta Girl and GK.

In January 2024, the Team USA champ rocked an effortlessly cool look to watch her husband, Jonathan Owens, on the football field. In pictures shared to Instagram, she wore Green Bay Packers colored knee-high boots with black leggings, a black crop top, and an oversized black leather-look jacket. Biles' crop top worked because it finished just above her waist, which helped with her body's proportions to give the illusion of longer legs. Perfect seeing as Biles is only 4-foot-8. As for her jacket, a piece like that never goes out of style. But Biles is a fashion chameleon, so don't expect to see her in just one style. In March 2024, she brought out her feminine side on Instagram and posed in a gorgeous black dress adorned with diamante butterflies. The mini-dress had cut outs either side of her torso and a thin strap to highlight her waist. This is a great trick to give the illusion of an hourglass figure if you don't have one, or emphasize it if you do. She elongated her legs again, as short dresses with high heels (especially nude or clear ones like Biles wore) can give short girlies some height.
