The Fall 2024 Nail Color Trends You'll Want To Wear All Season

It's hard to believe that we're already saying goodbye to summer 2024's nail trends, and welcoming in a swath of fall colors. The sunny season brought us everything from juicy, fruity manicures, to sugary sweet ice cream talons, and the most gorgeous muted pastel shades. But all that changes with the season. As is typical when the weather turns a little chillier, manicure colors are moving to the dark side.

According to celebrity nail artist Sonya Meesh, in keeping with the season, fall 2024 will be all about rich, deep shades. We can expect several classics to return, with mystic purples, enchanting blues, and the classic pumpkin spice-inspired orange making their way back to our mani appointments. We've rounded up all the colors you need to know, and we're sharing the exact polishes that will have you bang on trend as you carve those pumpkins and cozy up to a bonfire.

Burnt orange

Burnt orange was an insanely popular nail shade for fall 2023, and this year will be no different. This stunning shade is ideal for the season, as it holds similarities to falling leaves and pumpkins. But Sonya Meesh tells us it's also a great way to inject some excitement into your talons. "[It's] a warm retro-chic shade that's a fun pop of color," they explain. Two polishes that will get you on trend? Hermes' 71 Orange Brûle or Manucurist's Terracotta. Perfect for livening up those shorter days and dark mornings.

Copper

Copper will also be popular as the year starts to draw to a close, essentially turning burnt orange metallic. This is another throwback to a 2023 fall trend, as Vanessa Hudgens' manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, had our jaws on the floor with the star's super long nails on Instagram in November 2023. Sonya Meesh highlights Essie's Rust Worthy as the polish to try in 2024, telling us, "[It's] a perfect copper lacquer, so rich and feels like a hug in an apple orchard." Copper has warm undertones, so it's especially flattering on those with medium skin tones.

Deep forest green

Sonya Meesh reveals that forest green is another popular color to have on your radar. Think rich, dark tones that evoke a sense of nature. "I love jewel tones. They're perfect for fall and work well on every skin tone!" Meesh shares. The nail expert recommends getting the look via Addiction's Posh Green, for a lush, opaque finish. But because we're not into winter yet, avoid pairing it with red polishes or clothing. That will push your look a little too close to Christmas territory, and we're not ready for that just yet.

Midnight blue

If you're a fan of very dark polishes, you're in luck, because super deep blues will also be popular. "Absolutely royal and lush — I love colors that are so deep that they're almost black, it's a great alternative than just black polish," Sonya Meesh tells us, recommending Morgan Taylor's After Dark. Though we know dark, inky polishes aren't for everyone, they offer a lot of room for creativity. A shade like this can be lightened via a silver glitter on top to emulate the starry night sky, which would be ideal if you're planning an autumnal bonfire.

Deep plum purple (with a shimmer)

Another trend for dark polish lovers, deep plum purple will also be big for the spooky season. Sonya Meesh put the spotlight on Dior's 887 Triomphe as a go-to lacquer to get this color, describing it as a "sleek deep purple with a slight shimmer." And it's those light-catching specs that elevate this trend, turning it from something we've seen before into an exciting and contemporary mani. This look has a mystical and mysterious edge; perfect for Halloween parties or a night watching scary movies.
