5 Times Jennifer Lopez Nailed Trends While Staying True To Her Sexy Style

Jennifer Lopez has been in the business for decades, and over that time, we've seen her carve out quite the fashion-conscious niche. Lopez knows how to merge what's hot with her own style, repeatedly blending timelessness and trendiness. We got a glimpse of that in August 2024 when she gave the "Very demure, very mindful" movement a go. In an Instagram video, she sipped on a drink in very J.Lo-esque oversized glasses with gold frames. Sheer dresses were a huge trend from 2023 that carried on well into 2024. The see-through style is super sexy in itself, but Lopez found a way to amp it up even further. In photos shared to Instagram in August 2024, the beauty wowed in a nude, embellished Dior dress. Instead of wearing a full bodysuit and shorts for modesty, she chose undergarments that flaunted her thighs with cut-outs at the waist. The warm shade blended into her tan olive skin to enhance the naked illusion even more. The beauty's gown also featured strips of sequin flowers, giving us the glam and glitzy shine we've come to expect from Jenny from the Block.

Though Jennifer Lopez loves a structured dress, we know she's a fan of baggy pants too. So, when loose denim was back in for summer 2024, Lopez was ready to put her twist on it. The star was photographed in New York in July 2024 in long, high-waisted jeans, but she dialed up the sexiness with a white crop top. Lopez flashed a sliver of skin around her middle, also rocking a crisp white blazer with slits in the sleeves to show her arms. Her accessories were oh-so J.Lo, too. Lopez wore big, glam sunglasses and large hoop earrings (jewelry she's rocked for decades, as a nod to her Bronx roots) while carrying a black, designer bag we're sure cost some serious "Dinero."

Boho fashion was another aesthetic that made its return in the summer of 2024. That August, Jennifer Lopez slipped into a flowy black maxi dress while out in Los Angeles, serving a laidback boho aesthetic. She integrated boho with her signature style by showing some cleavage and brought out her chic side with dark, oversized sunnies (one of her favorite accessories). The multi-talented star also gave a nod to her love of jewelry with eye-catching gold bracelets on both wrists, and carried a raffia bag. But, of course, it was designer, in keeping with the singer and actor's penchant for luxury purses.

Another time Jennifer Lopez made a popular fashion piece her own? When she walked the red carpet at the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards. At the time, corsets and corset-esque pieces (think figure-defining tops and dresses) had made a comeback, and Lopez was willing to embrace them. In her way though, because she wasn't about to ditch her style for something demure and conservative. She wore an impossibly sultry and confident black leather-look corset waistcoat with an exposed silver zipper, baring some serious skin. The "On The Floor" singer wore it over a deep plunge body-con black dress with cut-outs at the hips (how J.Lo is that?)

It's not just through her clothes that Jennifer Lopez nails trends, because she also puts her own spin on the viral sunset blush look. The beauty hack took hold in the first half of 2024 and encouraged people to combine at least two shades of blush so their cheeks mimicked a sunset. When she walked the red carpet in Mexico for her Netflix movie "Atlas" that May, her blush colors blended from a gorgeous pink into orange (orange blush may be more universally flattering than you think). But Lopez avoided blindly following the makeup technique with no personalization. She also sported nude pink lips, fluffy long faux lashes, and golden shadow, which kept her signature glow and sexy look alive.
