She wore a bright yellow, calf-length Valentino coat complete with a cape, which retailed for $7,700. She didn't hold back with her footwear, either. Melania paired the bold outerwear with purple, velvet So Kate heels by Christian Louboutin (the black and nude versions sell for $795) that matched her long sleeves.
Several social media users were fans of the colorful look, despite its hefty price tag. "Style was perfect. Lavender and yellow, wow. You nailed it," one X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote.

She clearly wasn't too worried about her shoes getting dirty, either. The beauty opted for pale pink Christian Louboutin shoes, with a similar pair selling direct from the retailer for $945.
But while the first lady looked polished, fans had a lot to say about the clothing that didn't really fit the occasion. "Who wears 3-4" stilettos when planting a tree — asking for a friend?" one person wrote on X. "Stilettos and a dress... really?" another asked.

It's hard to imagine how a coat could cost $51,000 unless it's literally made of $100 bills, but Melania Trump showed us how stylish the super pricey piece could be in 2017. She attended the G7 Summit in Italy in the lavish Dolce & Gabbana outerwear, which featured textured floral embellishments. The coat was so prestigious it required a $25,750 deposit before purchase.
Melania completed the look with a Dolce & Gabbana purse priced at $1,630, which, not including her white dress or pointed-toe shoes, put her outfit's cost at $52,630. That wasn't too far off the average American's yearly salary, which SoFi claimed was $63,795 in 2025.
Her all-black New Year's Eve gown cost close to $4,000
Melania Trump was sultry and sexy when she rang in 2025 with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in the Medusa '95 Draped Gown by Versace. The black, Grecian style dress featured a thigh-high slit and a draped shoulder, with shiny, gold hardware on the right shoulder, and could be purchased direct from the retailer for $3,990. She paired the sophisticated look with what appeared to be $795 Christian Louboutin Iriza shoes, which were still on trend after pointed-toe heels made a major comeback in 2023.
Though Melania's had some outfits that missed the mark, social media users felt this was one of her best. "She looks stunning," one X user wrote.

The ensemble was one of several very pricey outfits Melania wore in the British capital. It's estimated she strutted in $165,000 worth of clothing and accessories during the trip, which only lasted four days.
