What Jennifer Lopez Looks Like Flaunting Her Stunning Natural Hair Without Extensions

Though Jennifer Lopez has had a stunning hair transformation, she's arguably most famous for her long, uber glamorous locks. JLo has rocked everything from chic ponytails that stretch down to the small of her back to waist-length blowouts, usually aided with by extensions. In a since deleted 2019 Instagram upload, the "Maid In Manhattan" star's hairstylist Chris Appleton confirmed she's a fan of clip-in bangs, while a clip shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, in 2024 showed the superstar literally pulling a batch of extensions from her head during a performance. According to BeautyWorks, Appleton reaches for the 22" Double Hair Set Clip-Ins in the color Blondette when he works with the "If You Had My Love" hitmaker. Sometimes Lopez goes even bolder than that, as she rocked impossibly lengthy, 50-inch, poker straight tresses to the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

But have you ever wondered what she looks like without a single extension or styling session? We have. And if you're like us, you're in luck. The star has gone hair helper-free on a few occasions, including in 2021 when she shared an Instagram video from the beach.

The clip showed the stunner with her natural, curly hair (the same style she wore in "Shades of Blue" and "Atlas") as a round bob. Her locks blew in the wind as she stood by the ocean. Fans loved seeing her tresses au naturel. "Love you in the natural look[,] just you at the beach," one person commented. Another told the singer and actor, "You look so pretty with curly hair."

In early 2024, hair chameleon Jennifer Lopez said no to extensions in favor of one of the shortest and straightest looks we've seen on her. The "Unstoppable" actor uploaded several photos on Instagram from a trip to Paris Fashion Week where she wore her tresses slicked back into a bell-bottom bob (which was the flippy haircut of the moment). J. Lo clearly didn't have any semi-permanent or clip-in extensions, as her dark brown 'do was less voluminous and finished just below her ears. Fans loved seeing her without several inches of extra hair, too. "Best Haircut Ever," one person commented on the upload, which was liked more than 1.3 million times. "Omg you look so young with that hair," said another Instagram user.

But that wasn't the first time Lopez, who's one of our celebrities over 40 with amazing hair for salon inspo, posed proudly while extension-free. In 2015, she removed the hair accessories before she took a car selfie posted to Facebook. In that snap, her locks were a similar length to her flippy bob, but less styled. "Short hair don't care," she captioned the upload. Short, long, extensions, or none though, we "Amor, Amor, Amor" Lopez's locks. And there's no doubting she can pull off any look.
