Kelly Clarkson Is A Bare Faced Beauty Going Makeup Free
Though we're used to seeing Kelly Clarkson made up on red carpets and on stage, she's certainly not afraid to keep it real when it comes to her appearance. The effortlessly beautiful singer turned talk show host has appeared in public without makeup multiple times and she even feels comfortable without it in interviews.
In March, Clarkson appeared on "Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce" totally bare faced and fans loved seeing how down to earth and comfortable she was in her own skin. "NGL I love the fact that Kelly showed up all natural," one person commented after a clip was posted to Instagram. "We love natural Kelly," another fan wrote. The star didn't have so much as a single coat of mascara or a slick of lip gloss on and had totally relatable minor dark circles under her eyes plus a little redness on her chin. Her glowing skin was enviable though, and Clarkson's brows were still full as she confidently chatted with host Kylie Kelce.
Clarkson has been very open about not being the biggest makeup fan, much like supermodel stunner Gisele Bundchen, admitting in 2017 she prefers not to wear cosmetics because of allergies. "I'm actually allergic to a lot of makeup, like, [around] my eyes, it's hell every night for me," she said on Fresh 102.7 FM. "I just don't feel like wearing it all the time," she added, noting she didn't always feel herself in full glam. So it's no surprise she's been makeup-free in public countless times before her podcast appearance.
Kelly Clarkson ditched makeup on The Kelly Clarkson Show
When the world shut down due to Covid-19, Kelly Clarkson appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" from home without her glam team. And she loved it. In a YouTube video, a bare faced Clarkson admitted her favorite thing about being at her Montana ranch was not spending hours getting gussied up. "Yep, this is me in my glory," the star told fans with a smile, as she proudly showed her glowing skin and hydrated, full lips. "This is how I prefer to be," Clarkson (who was in the blond stage of her hair transformation) added, proudly revealing her enviable brow shape and blemish-free skin, which had a slight healthy shine.
But turning her back on getting dolled up is nothing new for the "Walk Away" hitmaker. Clarkson, who has been candid about other aspects of her life, like using antidepressants, admitted on "SmartLess" in 2024 her preference goes back as far as her "American Idol" days more than two decades earlier. "One producer in particular, very high up, was not a fan of me just because I didn't play [the glam] game. And it wasn't even playing a game," she explained, joking she got along well with her fellow finalists on tour because she didn't hog the hair and makeup space. "I don't like wearing it. I don't enjoy wearing it," she added. Makeup isn't for everyone, and we love Clarkson's refreshing take on wanting to feel like herself rather than applying cosmetics just to fit in.
