Lauren Sanchez Bezos' Biggest Makeup Mistakes Are Hard To Ignore

Lauren Sanchez Bezos isn't afraid to rock a full beat. The former "Extra" correspondent is a self-confessed glam girl, to the extent she even rocked lash extensions in space — and there aren't many people who can say that. Speaking to Elle before she and a group of other women launched into orbit — though Amanda Nguyen's Blue Origin story is the only one worth talking about — the star quipped, "Who would not get glam before the flight. We're going to have lash extensions flying in the capsule!"

Luckily, her long eyelashes stayed put as she gazed down at the earth. But while her feet have been firmly on the ground, she's not always been so lucky with her cosmetics. Sanchez Bezos has endured her fair share of makeup mishaps, and from multiple awkward powder flashbacks to unblended contour, this "Killer Movie" star proves that, sometimes, even the most seasoned of cosmetics fans can get it wrong.

Lauren Sanchez Bezos' pale, frosted lipstick washed her out

During a 2002 appearance, Lauren Sanchez Bezos posed alongside her then-partner Henry Simmons and showed us why not every makeup trend is ideal for everyone. The star wore a super light pink color on her lips and, although frosty lipsticks were all the rage at the time, this hue was too light for her skin tone. Because the rest of her makeup was so minimal, the shiny shade washed her out. To make it work, she needed a darker, warm-toned lipliner to bring more definition and color to her mouth.

She experienced undereye powder flashback

At the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Lauren Sanchez Bezos experienced the feared powder flashback mishap that causes white patches to appear when taking photos using flash. Though not quite as dramatic as Reba McEntire's biggest makeup mistake, powder was clearly visible under Sanchez's right eye and over her nose, which was distracting and unflattering. The star, or her makeup artist, needed to sweep the product away more before she stepped out, while a powder designed to be invisible even when the camera flashes wouldn't have gone amiss.

Her powder flashed back again in Las Vegas

Baking (which involves applying an abundance of powder to set foundation and/or concealer, then brushing it off after a few minutes) was a huge trend in the 2010s, but many were caught out by cameras — including Lauren Sanchez Bezos. The star stepped out in Las Vegas with light face powder once again clearly visible down the side of her nose. The product was likely invisible to the naked eye, but Sanchez Bezos' mishap showed why it's important to take a photo with flash before leaving the house when using powder.

Lauren Sanchez Bezos' eyes looked sore when she wore pink eyeshadow

Pink eyeshadow can be tricky to pull off, and Lauren Sanchez Bezos showed us why at the 2004 Stuart Weitzman Oscar Dinner. The then-future wife of Jeff Bezos applied the feminine shade all over her lid and toward her brows, rocking a deep pink on the outer corner to create definition. Unfortunately though, the red-leaning hue made her peepers appear sore rather than glam and sophisticated. We'd have recommended using the shade closer to the lid, with a red-leaning brown on the outer corner instead.

Her contour was harsh and unblended at the Cannes Film Festival

Lauren Sanchez Bezos already has enviably chiseled cheekbones, so a little goes a long way with contour products. Unfortunately, her cheekbone contour wasn't blended properly on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in 2025, which left an obvious, warm brown line leading from her ear to the side of her plump lips. The star needed to grab a makeup sponge, like a BeautyBlender or Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and gently dab it over the top of the line to create a more natural, diffused look.

Her complexion needed warming during a 2009 appearance

When Lauren Sanchez Bezos attended the 2009 Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's Beastly Ball, she looked washed out. That was likely because she used a too light foundation without warming it up using a bronzer and blush. The result was flat and made her skin appear cool-toned, even though she's naturally a warm-toned beauty. A little bronzer over her forehead and cheeks and a touch of orange blush (which everyone should have in their makeup routine) would have gone a long way to achieve a more complimentary, tanner glow.

Lauren Sanchez Bezos had a dry skin mishap in 2005

At first glance, Lauren Sanchez Bezos' makeup looked great at the CCF Tsunami Relief Ladies Luncheon in 2005, but look a little closer and you'll notice a dry patch on the right side of her face between her mouth and chin. Many of us experience dry skin (or blemish treatments that can cause in dry patches) but Sanchez Bezos or her makeup artist applied a little too much powder over a too light concealer, which only exaggerated what appeared to be the remnants of a blemish.

She had uneven, spidery lashes at a high-profile event

Lauren Sanchez Bezos' long, spidery lashes have become a signature part of her look, but the application had room for improvement in 2003 at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar party. Look closely at her peepers and you'll notice her XXL lashes weren't visible on the outer corner of her right eye. It's likely she was using cluster lashes to get the dramatic look, which suggests one may have fallen off or hadn't been pushed up toward her brows to make her eyes appear more lifted and open.
