The Real-Life Partners Of Chicago P.D.'s Leading Ladies
The cast of "Chicago P.D." is packed with stunning, strong, and inspiring women, so it's only natural for fans of the drama to be as interested in their lives off-screen as on. Former Detective Erin Lindsay actor Sophia Bush, for example, has been in the spotlight for years after landing her big break on "One Tree Hill," and she hasn't shied away from speaking openly about her relationships and her sexuality over the years. The star wrote about her queer identity in a 2024 cover story for Glamour, reminding us there's no timeline for coming out. "As I came into myself, I already felt it was my home. I think I've always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum," she shared. "Right now I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can't say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great."
Officer Eva Imani actor Arienne Mandi has also spoken proudly about her sexuality. In an interview with LGBTQ+ outlet Diva, the star said, "If there were to be anything close to what I feel it would be pan. I accept love in all forms and I give love. It's just all love." But who are they giving that love to? Though Mandi is believed to be single at the time of writing, she has a few female co-stars who aren't. These are the real-life partners of the leading ladies of "Chicago P.D." and their love stories, from dating, to marriage, to babies.
Sophia Bush is happily dating Ashlyn Harris
Sophie Bush appeared on "Chicago P.D." between Seasons 1 and 4, and fans were gripped by her character's drama-filled former romance with Senior Detective Jay Halstead. In real life, though, Bush is dating ex-professional soccer player Ashlyn Harris at the time of writing. The actor confirmed their romance to Glamour and had nothing but sweet words for her partner. "I am absolutely in awe of her relentless integrity. The way she prioritizes and centers her kids, not only in her life but in the core of her being, is breathtaking to behold," she said. "Falling in love with her has sutured some of my own childhood wounds, and made me so much closer to my own mother."
On Harris' 40th birthday, she returned the favor with a loving message of her own. Harris posted an Instagram photo of herself and Bush celebrating with friends alongside the caption, "Sophia, Thank you for loving me the way you do. For the most beautiful birthday and for reminding me what home feels like. I'll find you in every lifetime baby, but I'm grateful I get this one by your side."
Before finding love with Harris, Bush was famously married to her former "One Tree Hill" co-star Chad Michael Murray. They announced their separation in 2005 after five months of marriage. She was also married to Grant Hughes (and wore a stunning, outside the box wedding dress on their big day) but they split in 2023. Fans may also remember she had a workplace romance with her "Chicago P.D." co-star Jesse Lee Soffer, who played Jay. They dated for almost a year but split in 2015, and he went on to find love with another co-star (more to come on that).
Marina Squerciati has two children with her husband, Eli Kay-Oliphant
Detective Kim Burgess actor Marina Squerciati is married to Eli Kay-Oliphant, a partner at Sparacino PLLC law firm. The two keep their romance out of the spotlight and Squerciati rarely speaks about her husband in interviews, nor does she share photos of him on social media. However, they made a rare red carpet appearance together in 2025 for Christian Slater's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Despite the two keeping their private life just that though, it sounds like their relationship is much more settled than Squerciati's character's on and off romance with Officer Adam Ruzek on the show.
Squerciati and Kay-Oliphant are parents to two children. She announced her first pregnancy on Facebook in 2017 by sharing a snap of herself with a very noticeable bump while pushing a stroller. The actor joked in the caption, "Don't be surprised to see Burgess holding A LOT of file folders in front of her stomach on #ChicagoPD." The star then confirmed she and her husband were expecting their second child with an adorable bikini bump photo on Instagram in December 2024. "2024 was a BIG year for me, literally," she wrote. The two haven't publicly shared the names of either of their children.
Amy Morton's had a lengthy marriage with Rob Milburn
Amy Morton plays Trudy Platt, wife of firefighter Randall McHolland, in "Chicago P.D.," but off-screen, the star, who joined the show for Season 2, has enjoyed a lengthy, stable relationship. She married theatrical sound designer Rob Milburn in 1997 and told Chicago Tribune she'd known him since around 1980. But it was far from love at first sight. "At first I really hated him, he was so arrogant. But we worked a lot together over the years and after my parents died really close together about five years ago, Rob was there for me," she explained. "He was an incredible friend. We just started hanging around together, I developed a crush," she added. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Morton also opened up about their sweet, settled home life. "[It's] boringly normal. We are both voracious readers, and I sleep," she said. The happy couple share a love of arts, too. In 2019, the long-time lovers hosted a meet and greet event linked to the Chicago art scene. This is a celebrity marriage we can absolutely see standing the test of time.
Tracy Spiridakos is dating her Chicago P.D. co-star Jesse Lee Soffer
Tracy Spiridakos made her first foray onto the "Chicago P.D." set in Season 4 — and she soon found love off-screen. The star is dating her co-star Jesse Lee Soffer at the time of writing, and the two have shared various adorable photos across social media. The Detective Hailey Upton Halstead actor and Jay Halstead star first sparked dating rumors in summer 2024 when she shared Instagram photos from their trip to Portugal. Then, in February 2025, Lee Soffer gushed over Spiridakos for her birthday. He posted a photo of the two together on Instagram with the caption, "A very happy birthday to this cute one" with a red heart emoji. That summer, they vacationed with friends in Italy.
The regular sightings have had fans clambering for the two to take their relationship to the next level and get married, just like their characters. After Spiridakos posted photos of them attending a wedding in October 2025, one Instagram fan commented, "Oh, hey when it gonna be your wedding? You two are such a lovely couple. Jesse, what are you waiting for?" Another wrote, "You and Jesse make a beautiful couple."
The twosome's cozy social media snaps tell us everything we need to know, however, the duo have never officially spoken about their romance in interviews. A source told New York Post in January 2024 though that the former co-stars had supposedly been dating in secret for years before they went public.
