Before we get to your specific device, here's how you can fix the Hulu playback failure in general.

  • Make sure your internet is working
  • Turn off and turn on your Hulu device
  • Turn off and turn on your modem and router
  • If you're watching Hulu over a wireless connection, try to connect your device directly into your router or through an ethernet cable
  • Check your router manufacturer for any settings and configuration information to aid your network

  • Go to the PlayStation main menu
  • Go to Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Test
  • If everything runs normally, try to reset the time and date of your PS4.
  • Go to the main menu
  • Go to Settings > Date and Time > Date and Time Settings > Set via Internet > Set Now
  • Delete the Hulu app
  • Re-download the Hulu app

  • Re-download the Hulu channel on your Roku
  • Update your Roku
  • Go to Settings > System > System Update > Check Now

  • Go to the main menu
  • Go to Settings > Network > and Detailed Network Statistics
  • If everything is running normally, you'll need to take additional steps
  • Delete the Hulu app, but log out of your account first
  • Re-install the app
  • Check to see if your location and language settings are set to the US by going to Settings > System > Location
  • Connect your XBox One to your router or ethernet cable
  • Clear your system's cache and power off the device
  • Unplug the Xbox One, Modem, and router from power. Wait a minute and plug it back in.
