10 Reasons Shonda Needs To Bring Back Derek
It's been two seasons but we're still not over Derek's death. Take a look at all reasons we need Shonda to bring back McDreamy!
While we understand that Patrick and Shonda had a bit of a falling out, we don't see why the two can't reconcile their difference for us, the people, because we need McDreamy back on our TVs!
1) He has a kid he's never met
Derek didn't even know that Meredith was pregnant with Ellis before he died (sob), so its extra tragic that he never got to meet his daughter, especially considering how important family was to him. Ellis deserves to meet her father, especially when that father is Derek Shepherd.
2) There's a potential Mer/Riggs relationship on the horizon
As much as we want Meredith to be happy, we can't imagine her with someone who hasn't known everything that she's gone through. Riggs doesn't know all the dark and twisty history, and wasn't there for all the experiences that have made Mer who she is today. BRING BACK DEREK.
3) With all the hospital drama going on, Mer needs a support system
She just got suspended from the hospital for opposing Minnick, but with most of our OG doctors gone, there aren't many people left to help her out. Alex literally just escaped a prison sentence by the skin of his teeth, so kinda has his own stuff going on, and Amelia just took off, so Mer could really do with her husband not only to support her but also to fight for her job back at the hospital!
4) He paid attention to all the little things
Speaking of Mer, it is nearly impossible yo imagine a man who would be able to love her as deeply and completely as Derek: "It was a Thursday morning, you were wearing that ratty little Dartmouth T-Shit you look so good in, the one with the hole in the back of the neck. You'd just washed your hair and you smelled like some kind of slower. I was running late for surgery. You said you were going to see me later, and you leaned to me, put your hand on my chest and you kissed me."
UM most guys can barely remember their anniversaries, let alone these little details. There is no one better for Mer!
5) Amelia needs her brother
Her marriage to Owen looks to essentially be over, and she's currently living at Edwards' house, so this seems like the perfect time for some brotherly advice OH WAIT no because he's dead. Shonda, Amelia need her big brother, help her out please.
6) There are currently no Shepherds at Grey Sloan Memorial
With Addison in LA and Amelia on a leave of absence, there's a serious Shepherd ..... at the hospital right now. From day one there has always been a Shepherd there, but now NOTHING. It's like biting into a kitkat instead of snapping it; you could do it, but why would you want to? Having no Shepherds just feels so wrong.
7) Webber needs another ally against Minnick
There aren't that many attendings left with the tenure and clout to prove reliable allies for Webber right now, but we know that Derek would have Richard's back in this situation.
8) Who is doing all the "no hope" cases?
Derek was literally a pioneer in creating surgical techniques that could save people that were previously told that their time was up. people came to him because he was literally THE ONLY surgeon who was willing to give them a final shot, and now there's no one! We all know that shadow Shepherd just isn't gonna cut it.
9) We miss his optimism
Nothing gave us the feeling that the impossible might happen more than Derek when he started a surgery by saying "It's a beautiful day to save lives". Literal chills.
10) He's McDreamy!
We already had McSteamy cruely taken from us, and now McDreamy has gone too. Admittedly there's a LOT of eye at Grey Sloan Memorial, but Derek was our original heart throb, and it's just not the same without him.
