About Emilia McCarthy

Born in London, Ontario, Emilia began her career at the young age of seven. Due to resembling Elle Fanning, she landed her first role in the Golden Globe Award-Winning film, Babel. She worked alongside A-listers such as Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Juliann Moore, Famke Janssen, Gael Garcia, and Robert Pattison.

Emilia's on-screen resume includes starring in the Disney Channel Original Movies Zombies and Zapped. She is also a series regular on Netflix's Hemlock Grove, Nickelodeon's Max & Shred and Family Channel's Dark Haven High.

As Emilia’s career continues to blossom, so does her mission in life to advocate for positive change. Being blonde with blue eyes, she is rarely associated with the Mexican culture in which she grew up. Today, Emilia uses her stature to bring deeper cultural awareness. She is also extremely passionate about environmental protection and was involved in the 2019 United Nations World Is In Our Hands  collaborative campaign with renowned photographer Justin Wu to promote climate change awareness.

“This summer’s releases of SkyMed and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3 are incredibly impactful for me. Both presented strong roles that gave me an amazing opportunity to share values of inclusion and community-building through powerful storytelling. The Z-O-M-B-I-E-S films have always done a wonderful job of sharing these principles with their audience, introducing Disney’s first non-binary actor and character in the third film, sending a message of inclusivity on every level.”
